Thank you for your comments. I am glad you liked my poem. The two lines you quote are referring to line 2 of the poem, in particular, the weary world. It is the world that mocks all my attempts to please, it is the world that laughs when she departs. It is a cry against the blind fate of the world, the injustice of unrequited love.
