I think that Our mutual friend is the best dickens I've read. To me Dickens is a constant reminder of the world around me as I work in London in the area he wrote about most - I work opposite the 3 cripples (now the One tun) and just 50 metres from Bleeding Heart yard and for me to explore these areas after having read his stories make them even more interesting.

For me, it has to be Tale of Two Cities. The beginning just sucks you straight in and the sinister clicking of Madame Dufarge's knitting needles is something worthy of Hitchcock!

I don't have the poll closed for me. It can't happen before the start of October. It has something to do with your post count, I guess. A member less than 200 posts (or was it 100?) can not vote. But of course, you can take part in the discussion and read books with us.
