Wrong! President Lyndon Johnson started the Vietnam war, although some mistakenly say it was President John Kennedy. Kennedy only committed a very small number of military advisors to Vietnam and at the time of his assassination he was thinking of pulling them out after South Vietnamese President Diem was murdered in a military coup. Johnson really cranked up the war. President Nixon and Kissinger inherited the war from Johnson, but did nothing to end it for the first four years.Quote:
