The Person Above you...

Koa, what a sincere and intelligent mind. She's crystallized perfectly the reason, the emotion, that has brought us all together. Love (yes, it is true). We all love the same thing. And I don't mean the love of Literature, because I think the 'subject' is irrelevant. Rather, what we've discovered: that, yes, there are people out there who are just as human as you and me, people all over the globe, far away in countries whose names I can't pronounce. It's kind of a reassuring feeling, especially now.

Aww that's true...last night I went to bed thinking why it's so hard to find people (especially men eheheheheh .... :oops: ) 'like this' in the real world out there. Or is it just an illusion created by my mind in this virtual world...???

Back to the game... Abdo is able to raise a crowd of praises from everyone who visits this forum... He's the idol of the young men and the crush of the young women...And damn he really knows about everything! And he posts in so many topics, that most of them become so popular cos everybody follows.
(and my English feels sticky this morning, must have been all that honey... :D :D :D )

Koa, you're the one that I really look up to linguistically. How many languages do you speak? 3, 4? I've struggled just to try to learn a second! Just that alone speaks a lot of you. I always enjoy reading your posts because your so down to earth and understanding. At the same time, your just as intelligent as Abdo, and have good profound statements to boost our intelligence. :D

Shea is just as patient as ihrocks. Believe me, I know. I've bombarded her with riddles and paradoxes about the Bible for almost three months now. It's a wonder how we've managed to stay on good terms at all. But that is characteristic of Shea, she's something between a mother and a big sister; she's detached and serious, yet sympathetic and playful. Again, you have to believe me, I've tested the limit of her calmness and she never came off as insulting, not once. If you see her around, ask her what she thinks of the Catholic Church and then bring up the Reformation, point out the similarities between it and the rise of Capitalism, tell her that GM and Ford were Nazi patrons, throw some Globalization pop-trivia in there, maybe a fact or two on Protestant American race-relations, and you'll see for yourself: she doesn't get angry. Is it just me? Hehehe, I'm only kidding, Shea. You're great, I mean that.

Oh, and it seemed like fayefaye was overlooked back there. So I wanted to post what she had written on a different thread, because it is along the same lines as what Koa was saying:

fayefaye is definitely the forum sweetheart. She is my comunpatriot, and has breathed life into the forums, compelling us to chat more, speak more freely, more happily, and by her casual (and did I mention) sweet posts has made everything here seem a bit more friendly.

I didn't think anyone else from Australia would discover a place like this and share it with us, and have the sensible opinions that fayefaye has expressed, and so I kinda see her as one of the last sane people left on this island, which I am pleased and comforted to be sharing with her. :)

*sniff* aww.. I love u guys... that's so sweet, especially since I wasn't the person above you ) . I actually thought most of my posts were fairly inane. oops seriously, that's so sweet munro. D I'm sure there are some other sane people on this island, though my friends give my weird looks when I say the only reason I go on the internet is to visit a literature forum. (well, I'm a member of another forum, but this definately takes first place)

The things I like about Munro is that he's honest, friendly and genuine. He's real, and real people are hard to find in this world. The last thing I imagine him to be is a poser; but he's great the way he is. D

I'd post a compliment on abdo, since he's missed out one.. but I think he's had enough. D

Munro is a marvel. The antithesis of that "Steve Irwin/Paul Hogan" notion that Americans sometimes get of Australians, especially Australian men. Articulate and intelligent, his posts are a pleasure to read.

And speaking of this site (here I go off-topic again), it's a pleasant refuge after long days at the office. I used to post to a different forum, and much like this one, the companionship and good feelings flowed, until a pair of idiots came along and changed to whole tone. I check in there once in a while and see them still snapping at one another, and I'm glad I moved on. Let's continue to share ideas, even disagree passionately at times, but remember what it is that brings us back here.

And Munro, you are a credit to your continent!

A worthy adversary and a good partner. Sometimes we are on opposite ends and eventually we agree to dissagree. But that is something i respect in a person. Sometimes i look up to her as an older sister of sorts. I'm the oldest one in my family so....yeah.

Abdo
Sometimes you get on my nerves and irritate me...other times you make me think or laugh. It's all good. I respect your ideas eventhough i may not agree with them! I think we are opposites but we TRY to keep our cool. Oh, i've wanted to say to you Abdo...what's wrong with being in marching band?! At least i have pride and honor in my band...i don't want to think about what you did in yours! :P

I just stumbled on to this thread and felt there was something I HAD to say, though I haven't been around very long. I got into this forum by sheer accident, through the Shakespeare sonnets mailing list and the first things I noticed were some of AbdoRinbo's posts(well, I could hardly help noticing them, now could I? :D ) especially in the Quotes section and to be quite honest, my hackles really rose. First because contary to what he says in this thread:

I think the "SUBJECT" is relevant, in fact I'm fanatical enough to say that for me it's practically sacred. Second I'm pretty uncomfortable with certain terms ( don't know if being from India has anything to do with it, and I'm not proud of it, but I am pretty inhibited in that respect and the language really made me cringe). I had just about decided that if this was the stuff that was regularly being posted here, I wasn't coming back, but luckily for me I had the sense to go and check out most of the other threads. I was amazed at how insightful AbdoRinbo was on occasion, how well thought out and interesting some of his posts were and how nice he could be when he wanted to. In fact, I'm beginning to get pretty mad already when someone else seems to be on a totally uncalled for spree of insulting him.
I'd like to post more on this thread once I know more about other members, but I had to post this as I wanted to be OK with myself for having been so prejudiced initially.
And this is a shameless hint, AbdoRinbo, but I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me what you think of the poems I've put in the Personal Poetry section. You can be as acerbic as you like ( I don't think I'm ever going to be able to stop cringing at your occasional choice of words :-? ) but I'd still like your opinon.
