Lacking in description? Now that you mention it, it did feel rather hurried like that. On the other hand, Artemis Fowl books are not exactly designed to be great literature, so I think it's fair to stick to the narrow escapes and explosions.
I don't think that it was as good as the others... at least it had narrow escapes.

I love all of the books that everyone mentioned on this thread. I used to read books like Fever, 1793, Speak, and Artemis Fowl when I was younger. I miss those books, maybe I should read them over. :)
