Hello Everyone,
My name is Qimissung, and I've been posting here for about a month. I didn't know about this place until recently. I've mostly been hanging out playing the cinquain chain and the shared haiku games. These can be quite obsessive,I must admit!
I teach English. For the past four years I've taught Freshman English-which can be quite discouraging, and before that English as a Second Language. Next year it's going to be seniors. We shall see how that goes.
I love to read, of course. Lately, mostly mysteries. Old favorites include "The Once and Future King," "Jane Eyre," and "Les Miserables." I also like humor. Enduring favorites of these include Shirley Jackson's "Life Among the Savages" and "Raising Demons;" Sally Benson's "Meet Me in St. Louis," and "The Irish R.M." which is both hysterical and can put you to sleep in a minute. They do a lot of fox-hunting, and one bush looks very like another when your reading about it, after all.
I've enjoyed my month here, and I hope, I really hope, to enjoy many more in the months to come.
