Hello everyone..
There is nothing impressive about me, i do not have a degree in engineering, i am not studying law and i do not plan to become the next Jane Austin..
BUT
I am 15 years old, a lover of books, renowned for my sarcasm and a real thrill seeker. Haven't done much when it comes to seeking thrills but i plan to!!
I've jumped of a 11 metre cliff so far and swam with dolphins (in the ocean not a theme park) about 200 metres from shore. I'm going diving with sharks in December :D woooo
I'm planning on taking three english courses in college
modern world history, religion and philosophy, maths and physics.
I have no idea what i want to be when i grow up..
My best friend is going on foreign exchange in September for a year. She is the most awesome person you will ever meet! When she comes back her parents are moving to Europe for half a year so she is living with me (wicked huh?)
My other best friend is my brother (yeah.. strange huh?) anyway
two days ago he moved to Europe for two years
I've been very depressed about that but now i see he is going to have the time of his life and i should be happy for him (he is 18)
My life is music, really only stuff from the sixties and seventies.. Bob Dylan is my husband *cough* i wish *cough*
The Who rock and so do Simon and Garfunkel.. Rolling Stones too.
My favourite book is Gone with the Wind
second favourite is Pride and Prejudice
my favourite actor is Al Pacino and my favourite movie is Across the Universe.
This is my life.. and i love it.
Thank you for listening to me!!
Bonjour!
I enjoy all kinds of books, from modern literary to speculative fiction. I currently attend a preapprenticeship painting program (not the artsy type, but the house renovator type,) though I will be enlisting in the French Foreign Legion within the next 5 years or so.
If 15 years in the Legion doesn't kill me, I plan to become a novelist after I retire.
My other interests include domesticated rats, drawing, and role-playing games.
Hello everybody,I am from Chile and I love reading. It's my first English forum
and I hope to know you and learn(?) your literacy interests. Also, I hope not seems so nerd by my writting style:blush: .Anyway ,I am very happy to be here.Thank you.
Of course, Poe's 'The Raven' was a sensation to read for the first time. I have a collection of his work at home. I am a member of Deviantart.com where I post my work (see my profile). My work explores the subconscious with a hint of horror, dark twists etc. Its not similar to Poe in how it is written.
On the subject of horror, I've never read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein yet and i've just purchased a copy. A.K.A 'The Modern Prometheus'.
Thank you for the warm welcome :D
Hey everyone,
I joined this site because I loved reading as a child and would read anything I could get my hands on. As I got older, the quality of many books appeared to decrease rapidly; I probably just raised my standards of quality. Anyways, what with preparing for rigorous classes, I lost my passion and the time for reading somewhere along the way. I am interested in participating in the book club part of the forum especially.
I don't have much to say other than I once joined here as Heat Ray 2.
Wow, a whole bunch of new faces! Welcome to all of you, glad you joined! :thumbs_up
Hello everybody
I'm 16 years old and I'm attending to junior high school. I joined here, because I love reading books, especially English, Russian and French classical literature. My favourite authors: Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, sisters Bronte, George Eliot, Honore de Balzac, Stendhal, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Leo Tolstoy and Mikhail Bulgakov. I like also historical books like Waltari's "The Egyptian" or "I, Claudius" by Robert Graves. My second hobby is watching movie- I'm fond of movie directors like Kubrick, Forman, Lynch, Tarantino and Allen. I hope I'll meet here a lot of people with mutual interests. My mother tongue isn't English, so please be understanding, if I make some mistakes.
Welcome Agatha. What a ovely name. Your english seems fine to me. Sounds like you will like lit net. :)
Hey!
I just found this forum and signed up a few days ago. Great place!
I am from Finland, Helsinki. I love books and reading and do a bit of writing, but not more about that issue, yet..
Hmm, I am 40, single, live in the city center of our beautiful town with my dogs. I work a little bit, but rest of the days I spend among books and writing, and try to travel as much as possible.
I got a lot of favourite books, but " Wild palms" is almost the greatest. As is everything by Ondaatje, just finished " Divisadero" a wonderful read I had with that one.
Ok, now you know something about me.
Have a lovely day!
hello everyone,
Am lliekamia a new her.
wish to help you guys.
have a nice time to all of you there.
Hi everyone. I'm already a prolific writer, I've written a few novelettes (though I refer to them as short stories) and am working on a series based on the card game Magic: the Gathering. I find writing a creative (of course) and valuable art form that anyone can enjoy adding to or browsing in.
I like Anime (Japanese cartoons, like my avatar) and playing video games and reading. I'm a high school senior, looking forward to my last year. Though I[m not used to writing stories as short as the ones on this forum, it'll be a new challenge for me to look forward to.
{edit}
That's all.
