Friday I watched shed tears; surprised
Emotion, sad Jo
Jo's mother has died
Your friends sip their coffee, guilt
in their eyes. Bad, sad
They had forgotten
that she is gone from jo's life
whispers, "she told me"
Jo, gone to the loo
to cry in peace, forgiving
her friends who forgot
Sue: I know she...
Jon: was it cancer? My fault...
Me: no, I'm to blame
Euthenasia
Quality not quantity
Of life...take it back
Two years they have passed
But the pain remains with Jo
Her fear? Mother tell
Truth, was it your time?
Truth, it was cancer
Change the subject, she's back...
Jo, are your okay?
She sips her coffee
"So sorry," she whispers
Help wipe away tears
Desparately we
Move on to simpler matters
Than death with coffee
Coffee on Friday...
whenever she left,
the last winter vestiged
its grief of her parting,
on the trodden yews,
where her knickers made the mark,
and on the sweet snow
where daylight sighed after dark.
the fragrant taffies
streak ranbow dews in his face,
though glistening bright,
they scarcely achieve disguise,
of the gaping blotts
beneath his socks,
imprinted woe on blemished eyes

whispering do tell
secrets confessed in shadows
hushed the candle burns
hesitating not
holding back the hidden tale
darkened eyes express
absent are the words
silent lips tell nothing more
story is untold
time appears at dawn
sleeping sounds softly hearken
the heart confessed not
moments left behind
the unmade bed makes mention
concealed in the night
the open door closed
turning saying nothing more
until time again
How does one cautious
girl become so scratched and bruised
Just getting the mail?
just one turn too sharp
flipping and rolling, gouges
in my arm. THE PAIN!
