Hello Valeria! :) Don't worry, although everyone here is wonderful and intelligent, they aren't intimidating at all so you should feel relaxed after a while! This is a wonderful place to meet people and discuss literature, and a great place to learn. I'd be glad to put up some more paradoxes! :) I stumbled across LitNet when I was home sick from school and so I was on quite a lot at that time and missed it when I was back at school! It really is addictive! :p. For English not being your first language you certainly write very well! :D And feel free to call me Samantha or Sam if you wish :)

In high school, let's just say that literature isn't a "hot topic" for discussion, so that's one reason why I'm here.
I love reading anything and everything, music, writing, hockey, and other various things.

Hi there! I'm a new member trying to find my way around and looking for a Maupassant short story where the author discovers St Tropez when his train breaks down. I'm in the process of writing an article for a newspaper - my first! Some chance eh!! Anyway, is there anyone out there who can help?

Unfortunately, I can't help you with your article, since I am not very well read on Maupassant; however, I do like the author very much and have read some of his short stories. Do you have an idea of the name of the story? I have a compiled book of his work and I might have it included. Also, on this site there are listings of authors - many, many - just maybe, the story is on here in the full text.
I just wanted to say hi, basically and welcome you to this forum. Also, I noticed we have the same user name, spelled the same way, mine minus the 11 of course. Mine is my real name.
