Sweet River of Forget…
Sweet River of Forget -
Sleep, mindless sleep, eases pain,
'less active with dreams.
less active with dreams
but if you want to reach them,
you've to go get'em!
(blech, chopping out syllables)
you've to go get'em,
inspiring their stubborn minds,
to learn and crave more.
to learn and crave more,
to open life's floodgates wide -
that's a life well-lived!
that's a life well-lived,
when you do the best you can,
one to be proud of.
*Montgomery Gentry does a song; "Something to be Proud of," that's what I was thinking about.
One to be proud of,
The way she smiles angel like,
Makes me think at night.
Makes me think at night,
Stars twinkling in midnight skies;
Austere points of light.

Not knowing the sun is wing'd
And beyond their grasp

float dreams of peace, harmony...

reaching toward the distant stars
in search of solace
In search of solace
I reach towards the flagon
But it is empty
but it is empty_
my heart now voided of all,
shadows haunt it's halls.
Shadows haunt. It's Hall's

Hi white camellia, how funny I should see your name first when I went to search. I am watching "Lady of the Camellia's" - the ballet...based on Dumas novel by the same name. It is wonderful. That is an interesting name for Lit Net...I like it and your avatar. I like your tragic Haiku as well.
Death, terrene tumult
Await the doomed couple, thus

Thinking of the ballet.

Yes, should be great as you felt it wonderful. I wonder does the ballet omit too, like the film, the opening chapter about Armand visiting his deceased love, her body...

for a moment, peace
Actually, the ballet starts like a story in pantamine. The lover is coming to the sale of her worldly possessions; an auction in one stark room. He then dreams back (flash backs) to the past. It was a wonderful production with some of the best dancing I have ever seem - very sensual and passionate. The young male lover is so handsome it is worth watching the film just to see him. Apparently the film is hard to come by and sells on Amazon for over 200 dollars for a used tape...unreal! Now I want to read the book so badly. I understand the film "Moulin Rouge" also was based on the Dumas' book, I had not known that. Read it online.
I better write a Haiku -
For a moment, peace
Dancers pause between notes;
Air fragrantly spiced.
Air fragrantly spiced
will drip wind like melting ice,
sweet like mountain streams.
Sweet like mountain streams,
Mist of lusty lilic breath,
Vales of spring rain cloud.
