@Virgil: yes, I do like Kipling very much, as I appreciate colonial literature in general. I read Kim some years ago, though never the original, as the tiny bookshop in my reach only had a -french- copy available :rolleyes:. However, I hope to some day read the original in English (hooray for Amazon ;)). My favourite shorter piece of work by Kipling is called Tomlinson, in case you might like to have a look at more Kipling.
