Only when travelling down hill. Sharks, Dolphins and even camels do much better. The camel is extraordinarily efficient in almost any terrain.
How about just sitting in a comfy armchair daydreaming? Surely that form of travel uses the least - just imagining you're doing something is usually better than actually doing it (rooting N/A)
