You've made my day, Remarkable - I'm not often right on this thread. :D
It's your turn,isn't it?
since no ones going...
1. I have been to Europe...
2. I have a little brother...
3. I cannot stand sushi...
I guess #2
Srry... Actually I love sushi...;)
Does that mean #3 is a lie?Really,you shouldn't tell,right?
Ok,I'm confused...
Yeah me 2 but #3 is a lie
So,who's turn is it now?
I'll take it. Try this one, world!
1,) No hablo Español
2.) Je parler Français , mais Je suis rouillé.
3.) Die Deutsch ICH fachkundig als ein Bube ist still stark.
Til Gottdamerung, Amigos! Would I lie? Mais, jamais, cher soi même! Eh, Bein! Vaya con Dios!
One is a lie!
Well, you made a mistake in the third and second sentence - still in German, can mean still in english but in that case it is an adjective (a still place) not an adverb. Also, I don't quite understand the sentence - don't see the verb, could be my mistake though.
And it should be Je parle, but as you said you were rusty. So I think you can speak a bit of French.
Don't speak Spanish but the sentence seems very simple, whereas the German sentence seems complicated but I think that perhaps you used Babelfish or something. I think it is a trick.
I think that you can't speak German.
... I'm going to say you're lying about being able to speak German.
I suppose the first one is right. You say you don't speak Spanish and as Taliesin said, the sentence is very simple so you don't have to know the language to write it.
The third one must be true, too, but that is only because you made too much mistakes in the second sentence.A person that speaks French, however rusty their French might be,knows basic verbs correctly.According to me,a francophone would never say "je parler"...So,is the second one a lie?
You don`t talk French.
Extremely funny German sentence, Pen.
Re-translated it's:
The German I knowledgeable as a knave is silent strong.
Who can tell if right or wrong
if the knave is silent strong?
Oh, yes, my friends, you caught the spy, unt you haf vays to make me talk, eh? Dat is gut! No, I cannot speak German, and the sentence is proof as it was supposed to say "The German I learned as a youth is still good." I did have a German friend as a boy and learned enough to get by, but forgot all of it, except a few words. My High School French is rusty and I read the language much better than I talk or speak it, I sound like a very bad actor trying out for the Marx Brothers. My children speak Spanish, my daughter fluently, but I have problems, and with a larger Hispanic population in the area, I could use the language. Au revoir , mon amis!

Who's next? Allez vous! http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../Newest/Go.jpg
Yes,come on,we're hardly waiting for a new one!
How about these statements, then?
1. My study needs redecorating - urgently. But I've been putting it off for three years now because I'd have to remove all my books and things, unscrew the shelves, dismantle the computer etc. Just can't make up my mind.
2. You probably know I'm a teacher and - in my free time - a comedian. I think I'll quit teaching and become a full-time comedian. The government has been heaping extra work on us during the last few years while reducing our pay. It's not fun any more.
3. My two orange tomcats are brothers. We don't know how old they really are because we got them from an organisation that catches and looks after stray cats.
Hm, too easy?
Seems like a lie to me. Can be wrong though of course. Due to sleeplessness mind is a bit weary.Quote:

Well, as to #1, most of us have a "to do" list a mile long.
As to #3. I got my Schnauzer from such an agency. She was in the cage with her brother.
Which brings us to #2 and I'm wondering if a teacher wouldn't use the word "comedienne", just being a teacher, and the strictness they impose on others? I'll vote for #2 as the lie, Barbie!
Yes, certainly too easy for your great minds! :D Of course you're both right. :thumbs_up
Hi, Pen. I didn't even know an English word "comedienne" existed. Had to look it up in my dictionary at once. It says comedienne is old-fashioned and comedian is used for both sexes. What do you make of that, huh? :D
I have a hard time reading you, Pensy, for some reason...
#2) From our conversations, which I miss, BTW, I will say this is true.
#3) Hasn't there only been two seasons?
#1) Your culture does inspire dancing and I am certain you can dance. The question is "Can you dance well?" I seem to recall you saying you had two left feet. So this is the lie. #1 is the lie.
And Barbie, someone who uses the word "daemon" often wouldn't find the word "comedienne" the least old fashioned!
I think it's number 3. I believe this is the fourth season of Lost so you may be catching up.
3)This is not unlikely to happen.I myself have watched only half of the first season,a quarter of the second and the whole third. So this has a high percentage of being true.
1)I suppose you can dance well. Most of the people I know, dance,if not wonderfully,as good as for not stepping on their partner's toes.So I think this is true too.
2)This remains as the only possible lie to me.You are not sure if you agree with it...you say.But you may very well not agree.I think this is a matter where one has a firm opinion.Of course,it could change, but still,it is created and standing. So,the second one is untrue.
Well, you have votes for all three. So you gotta ask yourself the question: Am I gonna answer these people? Well, Pensy? http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...e/Bluebird.gif
I'm going with #2. I have only seen one episode of Lost and that was last week. I had no idea what was going on. My husband has watched form the beginning and he couldn't tell me what was happening either- I don't think I'll watch again.
I am going for 1.
Nope, I can't unless you count jumping up and down madly which I believe I can do very well but the general standard of dancing well I certainly don't follow. :p Never danced in public too or worked hard enough to learn to dance well. Good job Pen (though of course it's not that I have four legs or two left feet :p) and Tal!Quote:
1. I can dance well.
Well, I don't. I wonder if it makes me a weirdo....but really I have met people who believed the same or perhaps they were all weirdos too... :idea:Quote:

Anybody?
Well, I'll go, and see if y'all pay any attention around here.
Today I changed my signature for the third time in two weeks.
1.) The Shadow, the present hero, I've written about 50 short short stories about and had published on the web.
2.) The last guy, The Avenger, was bailing out of a plane with a knife but no gun, as he detests guns, since he lost his family to guns.
3.) The first guy, Doc Savage, wears a torn shirt showing his muscles.
The lie, mes amis?
The third one seems to be a lie.
Here I go:
1)I can live without food for at least two days.
2)I can read at least three books at a time.
3)I can imitate singers for example James Blunt,Akon and Nelly Furtado etc.
Well, Pensy, I was waiting on more guesses, but then Formal hopped in with a new question, and he hasn't been around for a while so I'll just reveal my answers:
1.) The Shadow:http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../Newest/Sh.jpg Yes, I have written and published the stories.
2.) The Avenger:http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../Newest/Av.jpg See the gun in his hand? He lost his family to crime, but they were dropped out of a plane sans parachutes...
3.) Doc Savage:http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../Newest/DS.jpg Doc indeed wears a torn shirt.
So number 2 is the lie... Gottcha! And I had just changed the picture too! :p
It's a pity my magical crystal ball didn't work...
Erm, that's a difficult one. I believe you can do all this so nothing appears to be a lie (following extreme logic) but as for choosing the best option for a lie, I guess I would vote for the second one (though the first one is also giving me trouble).Quote:

I'd go for the first one.
Oh ,I am really sorry Pendragon,I wanted to write down my guess first(I had intended to say no.3)then put my own question.I'm sorry again!
