Welcome newbies! I know that you will love it here!
Hi, I'm Genevieve. I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana but I currently live in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I am working my way through school to teach literature. My major is English and my minor is education. I was just looking around on the web for some books to read when I found this place. I am not taking any classes this summer so I plan to spend it reading.
Where's Ryduce? He needs to come meet his fellow Virginian.
hello to the newbies!!
Welcome to all the newbies--soulsistachick, zannie, mariam, whitechapel, Genevieve-- a thousand happy welcomes to you and anyone else I've missed

hello all
Hi, I found this forum by searching for a poem my mother learned in grade 1...that would be in 1927...this looks like a great site and will spend some time exploring before I post any more.

Hi everyone
I'm Emeric, I'm 22, I'm still studying and I'm getting a Master's degree in European Affairs in Paris (France). Last year I was in Scotland where I discovered shortbreads (well, that is why I chose this name) and Scotland of course (and it's really a marvellous country).
Well, that's not the point. I'm here now because I love reading since 9 years old. My first book was written by Enid Blyton but I can't remember the title but I assume it's not really important. My first 'real' book was Hector Malot's 'Sans famille'.
My favourite author is Charles Dickens and my favourite book is Great Expectations. I especially like British authors from the 19th century but also Emile Zola.
I think that I've said quite everything. So see you around.
Hello Ashwaq!
Hi Shortbread! Welcome to the forum! I love "A Tale Of Two Cities" by Dickens. it is great to meet Dicken's fans!
Warm welcomes to Minerswife, Soli, ashwaqandashwaq, and Shortbread. Hope you all have a lovely time exploring the forums.
Bienvenue tout le monde!
Hello everybody!
I am new to the whole forum thing, so please be gentle with me?!. I am currently travelling through Asia (Cambodia at the moment). Have lots of time on my hands to read everything that I had always wanted to but never had time to get around to.
I enjoy travel, obviously literature, ummm food and drink?!
Can't wait to read what everyone is reading, thinking and discussing x
Hi Laura, welcome to the forum!
You can check "what are you reading right now" thread to check what people are reading. Keep on posting!
Always glad to welcome a fellow Laura to our midst. Sounds like you're having some great adventures travelling around the world. How do you like Cambodia? Are you there for long, and where are you from originally? (you don't have to answer if you don't want to-just friendly curiousity). Hope you enjoy the forums.
Hi everyone,
I'm Kelly, 15 years old, from VN. I'm studying in a secondary high school and will take an entrance exam to attend the senior high school this June. My hobbies: reading books, magazines and comics (actually, Japanese's comic), drawing, listening to music, designing graphic, watching horror and funny films,...And have your read my title yet? Outsider 4ever...Yup, I'm an outsider in my class and anywhere I've ever been. Therefore, I don't have many friends. I sometimes walk alone in school's break time when my friend is busy with her class duty. Silently, I look at the world around me...People are talking and smiling. Sigh. No one will notice me, a shadow. I want to escape from the reality. I often find another world in novels, books and comics. In this world, I can smile, I can cry, and I feel like that I belong to that world. Have you ever felt like that?
While I would not recommend avoiding reality entirely, as this constitutes insanity, I think that you will find the LitNet to be a pleasant oasis, Kelly.Quote:

hey newbies!
Hi I am NEW! So if I write dumb forums don't get upset. I love music, I like to read,I care my terminally ill mother. I go to church sometimes. Actually my life is extremly dull. I don't put on airs, I am just me. And right to the point. I write simple, because I am simple. From katie loves music!
Well, I already introduced myself in another thread, but just so that nobody misses (this should reveal a little of my character) I will like to say that so far I love this forum. The postings themselves are interesting to read, so I know I'll be here for a little while. ;)
Hi SurrealDialogue, welcome to the forum!
katie, that's really nice of you that you take care of the lady who gave birth to you, I mean your mother. The mothers take care of us so much so we should also give them respect and we should also take care of them. Welcome to the forum!
