Hello everyone,
I just found this site and joined. I am crushed on a paper about 1984 and came across some great threads to follow. As I get to know the site better I will fill in a profile, etc. and add some fun to my posts. For now it's back to 1984.
I am a senior in H.S. trying to narrow down my college choices. You can guess that my parents and I have totally different feelings about which school to choose, sooooo it's gonna be a looong spring!
More later....njbasketballman

hi
im new to all of this, and in need of serious help.
ive always had a interest in literature, but i found that that was not enough to get a decent A level. I'm a typical high school student, i love my friends and my sports, but have always enjoyed literature from a young age but never really had such a talent for it. i spend most of my time on the field but would really like to get to know you guys who have a common interest in literature, and also increase my knowledge of poetry and language in general.
i have no idea about how to use this site as it is totally new but il get the hang of it

Hello, well, for starters, I've lived in Houston, TX USA for the past 20 years of my life. I'm twenty five and I am currently in the Army and deployed to Afghanistan.
I've always had a love for the art of the story and the written language, however, it was only when literature was presented to me by two friends of mine when I was 20 that I truly discovered my passion for art and, more specifically, literature. At that time I discovered two authors that changed my life: Ayn Rand and Ralph Waldo Emmerson. At the time, I was going through somewhat of a transitional phase in my life and the works that I read of thiers was extremely helpful to me.
To be honest, I've not read many works by other authors besides F.Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemmingway, and some philosophy arguments by David Hume. I don't really know why, perhaps I'm just afraid to read anything tha possibly won't appeal to me. I've joined this site in hopes that I can find some direction in my reading. I look forward to learning something through this site and I hope that I can find a way to contribute to it someday as well.

Hello.
I registered on here some time ago, and forgot about it. But I visited again to read something about Alsous Huxley's "Crome Yellow".
I am 46 years old, a Goth, and I own a cat, a rabbit, and a large collection of books. I mainly read horror, but I also read a lot of history, historical biography and military history. I also read the occasional mystery, thriller or classic.
My latest reads are a biography of Marie Antoinette, and a book on Orson Welles.
As well as reading, I enjoy having books read out to me. Fortunately there are more and more talking books online than ever before.

Hmmm... I'm New
My name is Sarah, and I'm currently deciding whether or not this forum is what I was looking for. It doesn't have a discussion for the author or short story which I am currently analyzing; and, therefore, I am still in need of something of that sort. Anyone know of any other forums which are more for college students looking for help/ideas in writing literature analysis essays?
