Hi everyone,

It's my first time on this site actually...so i'll just tell u a few things about myself. I'm 23, graphic designer and i work at an advertising agency. Well, music and words are the most beautiful things in my life... they take me to places free of lies and deception. I love jogging at night, having a glass of wine outside in the cold while writing a poem or something, boxing... When it comes to music, Muse are my favorite band... and Beethoven is my "guy" at night...his music is very soothing and magical! I think this is it for now... i'll leave you with something i wrote the other night (it was pretty cold:) lol)...

Hello there! I've been searching for a Literature forum :) I'm currently at college studying English (combined) Business Studies and Music, and have applied for University to study English Literature and English/Philosophy - not sure what career I'd like to persue, but anything to do with writing.. Or possibly human resources.

I love to read romantic classics (especially Bronte and Jane Austen) and books about cosmology. My favourite poets include John Donne, Emily Bronte, Carl Sandburg, Elinor Wylie, Ella Wilcox, William Wordsworth and Keats. I content myself by writing poems, stories and music and I gain inspiration from nature and travelling.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone! :)

My name is Krystal, I'm 20 years old and I'm a full time student studying literature and having no idea what to do with it. I found it fascinating at an early age, and since then I never stopped. I love Classic and Contemporary novels. I admit I'm not hot for poetry. I love short stories though. My favorite would have to be British Literature. I look forward to getting to know everyone around here. :D

my name is Emily and I've been registered for about a month or so, but have only posted about 2 threads. I am an art major with an imaginary english minor. I say imaginary, because this way I can take all the english classes I want without the ones I don't want to take being forced on me. I have attempted to write a book, but it fails over and over again. I mainly write short stories, or analytical essays about life. I have only taken one literature class and it has inspired me greatly! Please read my threads and critique me. I could learn a few, as in a few, I mean many things about writing.

I stumbled on this site while searching for books online. I feel like I'm years behind on all the great ideas and discussions - having two teenagers means you don't get much computer time. My "day job" is teaching piano and voice at a local music academy. I'm married to a History prof. Lately I have been on a literary journey into the world of the Alcotts, Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne and the Transcendental Never-Never Land of 19th century New England. I've been particularly interested in discovering if there is something that we in the modern world can still learn from those dusty philosophers. I also am reading a lot of modern Canadian authors - my favourites are Carol Shields, Alice Munro and Anne Marie Macdonald. In my down time, I have to admit to being hooked on creating historically-accurate neighbourhoods on The Sims2 Game and peopling them with my favourite authors.

Isn't time travelling what books are for? As for an invasion, we'll leave that kind of thing to our southern neighbours. Unless you count sending all our good comedians to Hollywood.
