Anyone here know of glow in the dark eye makeup that doesn't look...oh I guess that would be stupid to say since glow in the dark eye makeup would look silly anyways. But I'm going to a party on friday and it is a black light party, so I think it would be fun.

And Mortis, I have no experience with that kind of make up - just with those "glow in the dark sticks".

Mortis, just put on some kind of white eye shadow... and it should glow in black light...

you should be able to get it in a joke shop or a costume shop.

Does laser hair removal work? I'm getting so so tired of waxing legs and other parts. But I'm worried about these long term/permanent solutions, I've heard sometimes they have horrible consequences.

I think I've put on weight simply looking at that!

I have lost 1 stone and half in 3 months! I've got one stone to go for my ideal healthy weight, all the junk food during uni life was starting to show!

About Hair Removal
A girl I know is having it done. Not sure about the consequences in the long run, but I do know it takes a long time before you're done with it! She is doing her legs and bikini line, and needs 8 appointments to get it to work. As I understand, the machine goes for the darkest hairs first, then the 2nd appointment is for the next to darkest hairs etc. She needs at least 6 weeks (I do not remember exactly) between each treatment. Taking that you're not allowed to go into the sun (bad for the skin and diminishes the contrast between hairs and skin) and the treatment itself is hurtful and expensive... I am really doubtful to take the step. Almost one whole year not in the sun! :eek2: But, on the other hand... you do not need to shave anymore, that is worth something I guess.

She believes it works (otherwise she would not have done it). I don't know - got to see it in 10 years time ... Very sceptical myself ;)

I've heard that there is the possibility of some of it growing back with the laser thing, but some is better than a lot I guess. Hair removal in general is a pain - no matter what you do there seems to be some side effect. Isn't there a prescription cream you can get? That's not permanent either. As soon as you quit using it, the hair grows back, and it's expensive.

Why can't hairy sasquatch be in style? It'd be much easier.

I wonder how long this would last... I think I'll stick to the razor...

And yeah, it has probably to do with style. But I am used to smooth legs now. Would not want them hairy even if it would become "style" now...

it's all about perception I guess. I agree, I am so used to shaving that having really hairy legs would bother me... but maybe that's because I have been socialized to think that hairy legs and armpits, and so on, are ugly and gross.... I remember a time when I did not wax my bikini line (or do a brazilian wax) and I was fine with it, lived with it, then all of a sudden it became something that I "should" do, so I do it always now... hating it when the hair grows too much.

ah, conformity and social norms. Maybe if they had a new magazine out: with healthy (by this I mean not stick thin or airbrushed) looking and hairy girls as models... then things would be different.

Back to the 60's? Though to be honest, I have no idea what the models in magazines looked like back then ... Would that be Twiggy? I guess she would fall into the stick thin category...
