It's Good Friday, and I'm fasting. Been thinking a lot about why I can't stop myself from observing Catholic traditions I no longer believe in a basis for. I've come to the conclusion that they remind me of my childhood, and going through those rituals makes me feel like I'm able to touch a small piece of it.
Also, happy! (Yeah, the real kind!) So rare for me. The last time was in October (I keep track of these things). It's been a beautiful spring day. I took a nice brisk walk this morning. I put my hair up and put make-up and nice clothes on, and I've been feeling pretty all day. And—and—my mother is coming in an hour to drive me home so I can spend Easter with my family and kitties.
Things are going well in Emily-land.
