Brick would be my fave... but will just have to put up with asphalt; our dirt streets get too rutty after a short time and then washed out often - the dirt hill roads become wash-boarded and inaccessible unless one has 4-wheel or all wheel drive.

i see, brick is more solid and looks fine. In Brazil one can still find old brick streets but cheap low quality . asphalt has taken over.
