Is cognitive dissonance a bad thing?
I doubt it.
Are there alligators in Alaska?
maybe in a zoo? ;)
all of a sudden you hear bombs exploding all around you and the lady next door was out side when the bomb landed on her. She's left her baby inside the house... would you try to save it evan though bombs are still falling?
No; I have other people in my own house to worry about.
same question
yes, my family are old enough to know how to run but a baby cannot. I'd go there and do anything to save it.
same q.
But what if that baby were the next Hitler?
J/k I would also try to save it.
Why would a stranger jump in a river to save a solid gold baby?
He/she need the money.
Is it better to let an animal be harvested and sold as clothes or to let it go extrinct?
Neither. If the animal it's about to go extinct clone it and create a replicated habitat. Murder is never right, and since extinction is usually a human-made problem, humans would solve it.
If you could go back to the past and met Hitler as a small boy, would you kill him?
No, I would abduct him and raise him to be a good person. :)
Same Q
I would leave him be, WWII is crucial to me being the person who I am today; that's why my family(or at least the part where my last name comes from) left Hungary.
Same question
I'd probably kidnap him and send him to live to a nice, pacific monastery, far away from any Jews.
Would you fight your way to the top or just go with da' flow? (lol)
I would try to fight my way to a comfortable position, but there's not much of interest at the top.
Do you want to do extensive travelling at some point in your life?
yes. I want to go to (in no particular order) London, Canada, Japan, Ireland, The Netherlands, maybe somewhere in the Middle East but I am not sure where - I guess probably India or Saudia Arabai or both, the Bahamas, Mexico, Australia, Scotland, and that's all I can think of right now.
do you collect spoons? like if you traveled around the world you buy a souvenir spoon for every city or country you went to?
i think that would be so cool to collect spoons, but no i don't.
i collect foreign money instead.
and i know everyone does that but i think it is just so cool...
do you collect anything in general?
I have some foreign money left over from my trip to Europe from a while ago.
I don't really collect anything right now because I don't have time, but collections are cool.
What is your goal for the next 12 months? Is there anything in particular you hope to have acheived by then?
I want to have my car paid off by then.

Do you own any pets?

What's the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
Put my socks on and then go out and start boiling water to make tea.
What are you most happy about at the moment?
i'm alive, i can breath, i can see, i can walk, i can chew (evan though i have a tooth ache), oh, and i'm going to greeny's b-day party to day and just made her an awsome card.
does bullet have a crush on one of the jonas brothers? (the boys on her new avie. )
I pretty sure she does.
What should I make for breakfast?
You can't go wrong with eggs.
Would you take the time to educate yourself about Bi Polar/Manic Depressive Disorder in order to help understand someone who is going through this or just shun the person as if they were rabid?
If the person is close to me, I definitely would like to try and understand what the person is going through. I have a family member that is what they called a "textbook case" with OCD. I definitely found out more about it and got to understand it better. How else would I be able to completely understand the person I am dealing with on a daily basis? So, of course I would.
Why would someone shun a person for such a reason as the above question?
They are easily stressed like most people. This is probably because they weren't disciplied enough as a child.
Why does everyone insist that life is crazy when I see nothing that I haven't come to expect and anticipate in my daily life?
Because you've been lucky thus far.
What do you want to be when you grow up? (I know I've asked this before but I'm still looking for ideas)
I'm only 47. How would I know?
Why do people blame everything on how a kid was disiplined? If partents try to displine kids, people complain that they are "wrecking their creativity." If they do not they are "raising the next generation of psychos." If you try the middle road, you are "to wishy-washy to have kids." Give me a break! http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...milies/Grr.gif
Most people like to blame things on their parents, either by their disipline or lack or disipline. Then they can relate to others and therefore like to blame all parents for all kids "imperfections". Does that make sense?
Do you think parents should disipline their children or not or somewhat in the middle?
They should definitely disipline their children, but to a certain age, me thinks. I'm only twelve, and my parents spanked me when I was younger, but now a stern reprimand hurts just as much.
Same question.
Not disciplining children?! That's crazy! Everyone should discipline their kids(I don't only mean spanking, the corner is incredibly effective)...When they don't, they usually end up claiming that the reason their kids keep getting suspended from school is because they have ADHD and getting them medicated later(I've seen this more than once). Of course, there should be a difference between the way you discipline a 5 year old and an 8 year old, and if your kid has no mental problems, they shouldn't need to be disciplined after they're 10(If they were raised right). It doesn't stunt individualism in the least bit(I'm the weirdest and most abnormal person I know and I was disciplined when I was young).
Same question.---
yes parents should discipline their kids. this questions reminds me of the stories in the media about Alec Baldwin's voicemail he left to his daughter. She had done something and he was upset with her for it and he left her a voice mail about it. The media got a hold of it and were talking about his parenting skills...
I was thinking (and I don't even have kids) that the kid probably deserved it. All he did was yell at her. It's not like he beat her with a shovel. If parents can't teach their children right and wrong through discipline, then who will? It certainly won't be the teachers at school, because all they want to do is defile the poor kids.
I was listening to This American Life (yes another NPR program - NPR Rules!) and that week it was about kids and discipline and the narrator said something along the lines of "Kids are sociopaths until they are disciplined out of it"
That is not a direct quote because I can't remember exactly what he said, but it's true. Kids need to be taught effectively how to function in society and they need to be called down when they do something inappropriate. You can't just call it ADD or accuse their parents of mistreatment. I guess some people have different ideas about what is inappropriate discipline.
Me personally, I think some kids just needs spankings.
Do you remember getting disciplined and/or spanked for something and how does that make you feel?
i've been spanked... well when i did get spanked i didn't like it. but i've looked around and seen what some people turn out to be. and i know what i could have turned out to be. so now i am thankful.
same question?
I remember experiencing many different forms of discipline.
What is your purpose in life?
Honestly? I don't know. I just know that I am here and I would like to live a decent, happy life. Thus far, I haven't been succeeding too much!
Same question....
changing the world.
How do you sour milk?
I am not going to tell you how I sour it but I know you sour it just by looking at it.
Oh wait, this is not the insult thread. I have no idea. I know that it goes sour when it stays in the fridge long after its expiration date. Does that help? :D
Why do songs get stuck in your head?
