The Twisting Fisherman
There once was a fisherman
Who was a vegetarian
and lived on salads.
He loved to dance the twist
When his wife, tired of
so many salads, left him
he got the dimension
of his abandon, as he
was now utterly alone.
But still he twisted on.
No logic would deter him

not so superposition
a time machine appeared from the æther
and levitated above my floor... about a meter
not a sound was heard but my philodendron
quivered, but to be frank I simply yawned
for this had happened thrice before and each
time giant tardigrades exited then screeched
and howled as their time machine winked
out of existence just before they did in a blink

It happened under the sign
of Gemini.
Coming into office one morning
L.F. found that the power was off
and all the electric cables in a tangle
While L.F. was still scratching his head,
he noticed a brown paw on the ground
Then a second one.
A medium jaguar
had made himself at home
under his office table.
The situation started to become
uncomfortable for L. F.
He texted the Firemen
who immediately
initiated Operation Anemone.
With much persuasion
and patience +anesthetic arrows
the animal surrendered and
was then brought
to the nearest zoo.

A wigwam for a goose's bridle
"A wigwam for a goose's bridle !" -
I hadn't an answer for such a retort
Thinking to turn the tide I flashed
my pearly whites with all the energy
and enthusiasm I could muster
refraining from any semblance of
bluster and asked again - As luck
would have it a visage appeared -
an apparition bathed in apple blossom
white and took me aside - "Prithee
excuse the ill spoken banter of old
urchin; your way lies beyond this
forest veil. Hearken to the cuckoo's
call whom I shall send before thee
and soon ye shall reach the end of
your trials and find eternal rest"

in this scalding heat
crowning my pilgrimage!

In the empire of the centipedes
there came an incandescent uproar
- inflammatory rhetoric that would
prove to tear the empire asunder
for a royal decree from the empress
no less got some minds to roaming -
high heels at high tee for the ladies
and when the gentlemen tittered
the empress decreed only left shoes
for them to be worn - oh, the fuss
this raised for a time and many be-
came imbittered as many had kissed
the dust in their obeisance - hence it
was decided a revolution to declare:
the monarchy was sacked and uncer-
emoniously shuffled off in derision

Blackouts
On account of the rains,
My city suffered
several blackouts.
First people
bore the darkness
with fortitude,
listening to sonatas
or looking at the starlight
with renewed pleasure.
Anger and fear only
set in, when houses
had to be abandoned
and businesses closed.
Most had the push
to start all over again.
But a very few, I regret to say,
took to the bottle.

Enjoyed! and can relate all too well (except the abandoning and drinking of course). Our locale's unofficial anthem is the roaring of generators... took us 25+ years before I buckled down and purchased one :)

• anciently there were creatures more
suited to interspecies cooperation, how-
ever an ill fated asteroid and increased
volcanism preceding ice ages precluded
colonization during those epochal times
• man - annoying creatures they were -
ever finding differences in their fellow
creatures to exploit and subjugate
• once we had surreptitiously led them
to the nomadic use of petrochemical
driven engines and plastics manufac-
turing their demise was sure - "the
toothpaste was out of the tube" as
their literature so succinctly put it
• while we have no need for their tepid
seas they serve well as an impetus for the
runaway weather to rid earth of that
frightfully good gracious me fluffy snow
• the apparent use of telluric sugar beets
in sugar factories was their finest hour !

The Spider was hungry!
Even being a 3D uploaded being,
she was hungry!
No spider net, no 3D insects.
Then she had a vital vision:
a gigantic 3D baguette!
Without her net
she had to be specially clever.
So she said to the baguette:
"Queen of queens, may I follow you?"
The vain baguette just laughed
and sailed queenly along.
The spider followed humbly
gobbling up every Styrofoam crumb.

Exorbitantly priced rosebushes put
Missus Penguin in an ill humor - alas,
her serene pergola project was also
over budget - even using Styrofoam
forms layered with concrete for strength
Yet one ray of sunshine immerged afoot
her tête-à-tête with Master Camas
the landscaper said her sun pool, though
made from the finest marble in Rome,
was complete, done at great length
And though Missus Penguin was underfoot
constantly micromanaging - the sod grass
was intricately laid down row upon row
taking care that not a single rhizome
was misplaced within the lawn's brength

Deep in the heart of the grotto
flows a thread of timeless tears.
They flow without hurry
wetting the adamant ground.

'twas the night before Thanksgiving
and all through the...
"This is an emergency alert -
all residents are advised to shelter in place",
(thunder rolled), - "This is not a test -

It has been reported by NORAD that a space
monster is in your vicinity -
This is not a test"
I thought briefly of taking the alert to heart
but to my uttermost astoniment decided to depart
peradventure to ascertain for myself
whether solid, or some fashion of gelatinity,
winged, or whatever - I took my blunderbuss
off the mantelshelf
and slipped off into the night nonplussed
the rain came down in sheets
as I entered my rustbucket and hit the streets
heading north by northwest
and there it was...
next to a flying saucer all abuzz
three meters tall - the space monster gazing
at an electronic contrivance
pointed at a pasture with three cows grazing
and gave it a second glance
and poof!
'twas lightning came down heaven sent
which startled the cows, no longer content
I bundled up the dead space monster
into the bed of my rustbucket as proof -
durn'd if it didn't look like a tardigrade
as it were,
and since it smelt like chicken right off the spit
I knew I had my Thanksgiving dinner
figgered out... just needed a marinade -

A Poem as Quiet as a Doormouse
Fancy a serene landscape
steeped in twilight,
a bird's sleepy twitter and
the nostalgic notes of a piano
produced by the hands
of a neat old lady
beside her a cane
seated in a room
with a soft carpet, a settee
and lots of bric a brac,
all trophies of distant travels.
Under the settee,
at a safe distance
a door mouse watches
the players fingers glide
over the keys of the piano.

The Mysterious Bubble
Now, if you just listen to me
I'll tell you the story
of the mysterious bubble.
It appeared one day in the harbor
just like this.
Curious people came to visit it
and, of couse, to take a selfie
In front of it.
The press wrote daily about it.
Politicians debated about its future
Famous scientists examined it
one of them pierced it with a needle.
The bubble didn't react.
But when it was pierced repeatedly
it began to shiver and to shrink.
The flood took it.
Soon the people standing in groups
at the shore ,couldn't distinguish it
anymore in the distance.

Without subtleties
Blue Jean's was an
icon during my childhood
It was worn in fall
and all other seasons,
By men,women and children,
the universal wear
of worker and loafer.
Blue Jeans brought
a certain dress equality.
Choruses of iluminatrd mode bosses
proclaimed its excellence.
I myself used the magical
trousers, often with genuine holes
at the knees from genuine falls,
more than any other kind of clothes.
