Please correct me if I'm wrong, okay? :) I do know at the hospital near me, the first thing they ask for is one's insurance card, but I also know people who've gone there with no insurance and no money and have been treated, so I'm really not 100% sure about this one.
I think it's morally wrong that in such a wealthy country some people don't get the medical and dental care they need, that there are people living in boxes under a bridge, going hungry, without coats, shoes, education, etc. However, it's not illegal.
