I wouldn't mind visiting India. It's not first on my to do list, but it would be cool to meet some of the people i talk to on the phone from India in person. I would need a guide though

No, perhaps your fortune telling abilities are out of whack. (I was thinking perhaps it's possible to do; sometimes I feel like we might dream what will happen the next day, or perhaps all our lives are in our mind since birth...)
Someone who has once tried apple juice in cereal (Cheerios or something)
ew. No. (yeah, like the universe it's just repeating itself again and again, we live the same story time after time)
Next is Nik. Actually I think he's the only other person here.
Haha, what a pleasant surprise to see you here! :) I was going to PM you to tell you about a dream I had last night...
I only asked the Cheerios and apple juice thing because I was eating some, cheating on the fast for the sweat lodge, tomorrow...actually my friend said it'd be fine to snack, and actually I'd not eaten since breakfast, and it only had to be a 24 hour fast from 4...
And about the eternal return thing, of course Nietzsche had the idea of it...A few times in my life have been characterized by feelings of deja vu, only more powerful than that. Feeling like I remembered experiencing the same things, only somehow intimately connected to my childhood, because it would seem like I was examining the memory as a child, of an even that happens later...
Come to think of it, I wonder if I've ever had any dreams of battles in the far off future or on other worlds, that actually took place...very interesting! So that's why I'm interested in the idea.
Predict next poster to be Jin.
Of course!
HA HA! I knew Nietzche had something to do with it! Actually I've had that idea before. And I read it in a book about Mediums (don't ask :D)
But then again, if everything I dream is actually happening in another unniverse, then that is a very freaky place where no one should go. ever.
Next poster is someone who might be JK Rowling in disguise!
I have no idea what he looks like, so I wouldn't know!
Yeah, his idea is "eternal recurrence," and I've seen it in at least two places; hold on, let me find the quotes for you (each is about a para: one he introduces it, the other he sort of explains it)
I think it's sort of a monstrous idea that explains everything, and you think is true, or at least very relevant, but you can't get to it by proofs, trying to build to it or anything...
The first thing that comes to my mind when I read is to doubt its validity. If everything that's happened is going to happen again, and infinite more times, then doesn't that mean only things that have happened now will happen again? Wouldn't this mean nothing new could happen? I had somewhere else to go with it, but forgot what it was.
Actually that's how the Medium book thingy (by Allan Kardec) sort of explained it. That the unniverse goes on on a sort of spiral which is going to double out on itself and that's why we can, um, er, talk to ghosts.
Yeah :) there's a book, a novel, called "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" that begins talking about Nietzsche's eternal return. It says if life happens only once, then it's very light, but if what we do happens over and over, then weight is added to our actions...I want to finish reading it sometime, I think it's a classic.
http://www.wpunj.edu/cohss/philosoph...TNET/RECUR.HTM here's where the two quotes I mentioned are. They're GS 341 and WP 1066 :)
yeah, I'll read that when I wake up tomorrow. The only thing I can read right now it's webcomics.
Must. sleep.
Haha hopefully I'll sleep when I go to bed, too! I will probably eat a little more raisins.
I think that's all there is to eternal return. For me it's not that there's nothing that can be done, but rather that there's everything that can be done. All dreams come true.
