Whatever do you mean, dear Maddie?
Well, if one defines the word "antique" in this context as meaning an object that is valued because of craftmanship typical of an earlier time...AND also implying that people of all ages could enjoy such an object (which I think is true) than I think you have an idea of what Maddie means, eh? Of course I could be completely off the mark, and in that case what would you suggest? :)
I don't have any idea of what you said at all, dear kathycf..:):):):)Maybe, we should ask Maddie. Do you think she's still online?:)
Is the rumour true? Did the intergalactic flying genie with an attitiude finally find his lamp?
I don't get Genies at all.. They grant you your 3 wishes and then when they get trapped to their lamps, why can't they wish themselves out for freedom?
No. But I had a strong feeling something was wrong... Just too lazy to correct. 2.15am here, you know.. Wanna sleep but I wanna stay here at the same time.. Don't we all wanna stay here?:)
Aimus, do you think the Genies will take up that contract clause at the next meeting of the Union of Mythical and Magical Beings? We Dragons are asking for more acceptance in society and enough with the “Let’s sacrifice a maiden to the Dragon!” crap; it burns us up; you know what I mean? You aliens asking for anything specific? :p
Don't you think that is rather unfair to the maidens?
Not really no, why would it be unfair?
Maybe it is unfair because most maidens don't want to be sacrificed? Of course this is an assumption on my part, but don't most living things have a desire to be alive?
Did it ever occur to you the sacrifice might not involve dying? :p
Hmmm, that seems intriguing....care to elaborate?
Isn't it just one aspect of them that gets sacrificed? ;)
Did Robin just explain perfectly how it would work?
Did he? What aspect is he referring to and just what is the nature of the sacrifice deemed necessary? Does this smiley relate at all to the current discussion? :ladysman:
What could POSSIBLY make you think that?
Don't you know? Why would you think I have the vaguest idea of what I am talking about?
A-HEM! May I assure you, that kind of maiden sacrfice is not what they mean when they toss one to a Dragon? Different species here, hello? I asume you can bring anything up on the floor at the meeting, Aimus, that's how it usually works, isn't it? BTW, the meeting is at Valhalla this round, you did get the memo? Just take the rainbow bridge and bear left, OK?
Kat, are the undead coming to this one? I heard there was some vandalism in the crypts, maybe the Union will check it out? We pay our dues, don't we?
This seems like a trap leading to sacrifice, dont you think? -- explaining the route and giving a memo and all :brow:
You think maidens will fall into this trap???
Wouldn't they have to be a bit dim to fall into it?
Pen, there was vandalism at the crypts? Do you know how upset that makes me?
seems the q is for Pen,so excuse me:D
I thought I asked two questions previously?
hehe~I just saw the last one!questions for others are alwyse more intersting than those for you:lol:
Um, well, Kat, I didn't think it would make you happy, us being members of the same lodge, I just thought you might like to know, see? Don't rightly know what was going on, pentagrams drawn everywhere, and that last crypt on the end was prized open a bit--whose was it? Bunch of people fooling with things they know nothing about, innit?
BTW, Maddie, Bifrost, The Rainbow Bridge won't work for mere mortals, so how could I be setting a trap for maidens? But I thought I might ought to leave directions, as Dragons are among the eldest, and know the paths. Nine worlds connect through Bifrost and we wouldn't want our fellows ending up burned alive in Suterheim or frozen in the wastes of Nifelheim, now would we? Can you imagine a place so cold that it burns?
Who would want to imagine a place so cold it burns?
Why Imagine? Have you never been to Saskatchewan?
Do I have to ask a question, again??
nah
Did you ask one before?
Will not asking questions make this thread dead??
Apparently the Norse people, as the legends of Nifelheim (Cold Hell) come from them, and do you know they considered Nifelheim to be worse than Suterheim even though they believed that the daemon Surt, ruler of Suterheim would destroy the world at Ragnarok, sometimes called Göttdamerung?
And how could they have known that thousands of years later an old German cat named Wagner would sit down and pen, of all things, the soundtrack to the whole bloody affair?
True, true. But it's not all that bad, " Ride of the Valkyries " part is actually pretty good, you think? :thumbs_up
I certainly do! Did I accidentally imply that I considered Wagner anything less than a god of music, his "Ring" cycle less than mindblowing? (Though I've not actually got passed the middle of "Siegfried" yet, so there's about five hours' worth that I cannot yet comment on.)
I dunno about "Ride of the Valkyries". Someone tell me? Is that a play or a movie or a book?
I still have to read The Valkyries (or something like that) by Paulo Coelho.
Isn't it a song?
Has any one here read The Alchemist (also by Paulo Coelho)? Did you know that book is the reason i´m here?
"Ride of the Valkyries" is classic music by Robert Wager, didn't you guys notice Jamesion and myself discussing him? ;)
Oh! I must've skipped the post where Jamesian said it was a soundtrack. And I think I know some author by the name of Wagner. Sorry.
Soooo, what is the question now?
