re Struwwelpeter. Well, yes. When I was a kid, I got cards with the illustrations of the book. I hated it. I still remember the blood dripping down from the cut thumbs of the boys.

re: I think today they seem vastly. exaggerated. But then there weren't any tv monsters. And the idea was to emphasize the punishments for bad behavior so the stories are a sort of nightmares.

re:I get somewhat confused with this color business. In Brazil and other countries, red is the color of left parties. But in US it seems to be the far right.
