Lan houses were very common here, at the beginning of internet era, when a PC was a very expensive thing. There was one or more in each corner and onepaid for minutes of usage. Later they were still useful, when one's PC broke down. Then they disappeared, at least from São Paulo.
Turtles! :). Had several when I was a kid but they all run away. My grandpa bought me a stuffed one: "This one won't run away."
