John Ford is great, sure. Watched Stagecoach the other day, actually, and have seen others, e.g. MDC, and I think The Searchers.

Hi, My Name is Black Dragon. I am a new Novelist. My First book is called Alien: A Girl From Another Planet Looking For Love. It is a science fiction romantic drama. A little about myself: I like marital Arts, Chinese Movies, and Chinese Cooking. I consider myself a Star Wars, Star Trek Geek. I've wanted to write a novel for the longest time. There was always something missing in most movies. That is what novels provide. Thoughts an feeling of the main characters. The goal is to make a TV show or movie out of my novel. That's why I'm writing this series.
Hey dezel and jonse/Black Dragonn. Welcome to both of you. :)
Hello!
I am from New Zealand, and I am studying English via correspondence at University. I am doing Poetry at the moment which Im not so great at so am enjoying every bodies educated interpretations of it and gaining new insights to it. Umm ... Winter is approaching .. I could say its coming but thats already taken from a great series of books. I am an older student with three offspring, this is something I have always wanted to do and feel guilty for having left it so late. Oh well
Welcome to the site, Lahertha. Good luck with your academic work. Hopefully we won't put you too far off course. :)

Hi Dan. Welcome to the site.
MY NAME IS NOT DAN ITS DAN G. LENAUTS!!!! pesant
Nice to meet you, Danny Boy.
I don't know if this is where I am expected to introduce myself and say Hi, but Hi. I came here to learn about choosing a translation of Dante's Comedia Divina as I am about to read it. I have been touched by the serendipity of this place as the first blog I chose, randomly, to read referred to that work.
I do like to express myself with words
I respect "The Word". I do not want to try to describe myself but rather wish to let my words teach you what is important (if there is anything important) about me. I leave you tonight with a quote "desperation often masquerades as faith"
I just went back to read the posts preceding mine (which I had not previously) and came upon dangly nauts. What can I say, your wrath has left me speechless. I can only laugh.
Hey m&m! :) Welcome to the site. Hope your journey to the right translation. Of Dante is less traumatic than his was.
@ Meandermind: enjoyed "desperation often masquerades as faith"
I offer an anagram I found in "And that has made all the difference" / last line of Robert Frost's poem The Road Not Taken: Charlatans Flee The Faith Demanded....... (from my anagrammatic poem The Road Not Ken: Ta ! 8/15/2014)
And howdy! to all.

Hi I'm Mike and looking to form an on line book club which is dedicated to reading books about and by members of the Bloomsbury group.
Love to hear from anyone interested
Hi Mike. Welcome e to the site. Bloomsbury, that was Zonker all those hippies, right? :)
I taught music composition at bowling green state university for 41 yrs, but have been retired since 2010. Still classical concert music but only teach master classes on the road built around residencies and concerts. I want to write short stories and am finishing my first short story.
Welcome to the site BBM. Hope you are enjoying retirement as much as I am! :)
Hello, I'm from Turkey. I can help everybody who interested in Turkish Literature. Also, I want to be a Interpreter. Accordingly, I'm improving my English and I may make mistakes (I hope this paragraph is correct grammatically). I had been searching a forum where I can read and write on literature, and I found there. Moreover, I love Russian and French Literature.
Hi my name is Alana & i am new to this site
Merhaba TLB and welcome to the site. You will find many lovers of Russian and French literature here. Please make yourself at home. :)
Hello Alana and welcome to the site. :)
Hi, I'm also new here (obviously). Like Samercury above, I also love languages. I can speak and read Japanese, Spanish, and some German and Russian besides English. I would also like to study ancient Greek, Sanskrit, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew... <sigh> So many languages, so little time....
I actually don't much like poetry, but Japanese and German poetry in the original languages is great. I don't know what it is about English, but most of our poetry is not that good (IMHO). As for fiction, Paul Auster, Hermann Hesse, and most hard science fiction (not <shudder> fantasy, except for JRR Tolkien, who was a god)....
Hi everyone...
im from indonesia
i like to talk about french litterature and comparative literature.. :smile5:
my favorite author is haruki murakami (well he is japanese but i still love his books), albert camus, sartre, kafka etc..
Hi Lurgid and Ica. Welcome to the site. Make yourselves right at home.
That's a nice idea of converting one's stories into short-movie scripts. That might be one way to test the effectiveness of the short story's plot. Welcome!
Hello guys, I'm Giuliano( yea, really no point in coming up with a nickname). Unfortunately I had already posted a thread before thinking about introducting myself, but hey, better now than never. While we are at it, I hope you will allow me to take the liberty of asking whether you'd like to provide your thoughts on my thread "Should a non-native speaker write in english?" under "general literature"( I can't post the link, apparently).
Hi Everybody. I'm a librarian, and I guess you could call me a scholar as well. I wrote my doctoral thesis on Shakespeare, and I'm in negotiations to get it published. A book on Shakespeare...now that's a dream come true. I'm about to ask a very specific question in another part of the forum. Maybe you could help me with it! Thanks much.
Hey Giuiliano and Watch-dog. Welcome to both of you! Good luck on getting published, WD. Sounds like a really exciting time. :)
Thanks Pompey! :)
Hi folks, my name here is Emma Woodhouse, because I love Emma by Jane Austen, and I live in sunny Marrakech.
I never meet people who read Austen, and maybe this could change...
Welcome Emma! You will find many Austin readers here. I've been to sunny Marrakech, by the way, and loved it. Morocco is such a beautiful country!
