We have temperatures between 33C and 35C forecasted for the next week. I hope poof makes use of her new hole. But often cats have a different point of view.
I remember buying a dog hut for my cat Babalu before adopting her. She did use the hut but wasn't so satisfied about it. Sad story about the two squirrels, but I'm sure you do everything you can to have animal harmony on your premises. But they have their instincts, it's sometimes difficult to avoid disaster.

i was trying to hunt up an actual photo of poof for you danik but its too cumbersome. maybe someday i'll spring for a camera.
in terms of weather, we have a mess brewing here. my driveway (and I live on a hill) is already a solid sheet of ice. today its above freezing and so everything is turned to slush, and then tomorrow starts the super cold. I just shoveled one layer of slush, exposing the ice below, hoping that will turn to slush also so I can do another round of shoveling.
meanwhile, poof was here when it was colder than its going to be this week, so I think she'll be okay.
ive had guava nectar before but never an actual guava. would have to go with that one just for the experience.
