Love your Haiku... a touch of melancholy.
We have many foxes and blue birds (mostly Jays) here in Garden Valley... had a mountain lion on our property yesterday; bears once in a while. We have Pine Martins and other weasely kin, but the Stoat poem plenty was pure whimsy after a bit of woolgathering and googling.

Most wild animals out here stay away from people, but there are sightings... only a few animal stalkings and one death in memory nearby... https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-...703-story.html . re: I guess, you all got used to these eventual visitors. Once in Canada I saw in the news that a big bear had bear attracted by the swimming pool of a mansion. Alas, here the garbage cans are raided by humans.

re: scorpions - a true story: about 20 years ago my then only grandson and I took a short walk up the road and stopped at a small hillside of shale and absent-mindedly took of a few hand-sized sheet-chunks of loosened shale off the side to reveal the scorpions; 2-black scorpions just minding their own business... we left them alone... hope they found a new hide-out.

re: Yea, scorpions like to hide in dark places. But you didn´t know they were there and they probably regarded it as a chalenge to move their residence.
Liked your seaside poem. It has been a good time since I went to one.

Thanks for the "skyglow" article. Had never thought about it, but one can´t conceive a modern city without it

... a different Aurora than I imagined. Off topic, but I just remembered the Aurora Bridge in Seattle when I was a child :) We lived nearby for a while - then moved in to my paternal Grandfather's home (a hoot and many hollers away) after he left for Alaska when my Grandmother passed on... then my maternal Grandmother and 2-Aunts and Uncle moved in to our old home by the Aurora Bridge where we visited quite often.

When visiting Canada (in the nineties?) we set over to Seattle with a speedboat and stayed there a few hours. I remember the wood houses which are so usual in films.

Ah, speedboats in Seattle evoke very strong memories in me as a kid (late 50's/early 60's) :) My Dad had a friend that raced (hydroplanes) and he had a home on either Lake Washington or Union... I almost drowned there. We went to watch many races on the lakes including the manmade Green Lake, also in Seattle.
