A few quick things about me, I'm from the US, more specifically, North Dakota which does, despite what you may have heard, have it's own kind of beauty about it, I love listening to music and playing any game in the Zelda series and am a passionate reader, my current obsession is 19th century Russian Literature. I hope to be a frequent visitor, that is when my kids aren't on the computer playing Runescape.
Blechh--Runescape. The poor man's MMORPG. Same goes for Neopets. Double blechh.
That being said, welcome!
Hi all. I've just found this site today. I'm at Uni in England, taking an English course. I love football, but don't particularly like reading: which is odd because I'm taking an English degree. I've wanted to find a site like this for ages. Just want to say what a great help it's been so far. Just wondered if anybody is interested in the writings of Virginia Woolf? xx
Hola doods. Found this today after i read 1984 and was looking for some different ideas with google. Looks like it'll be helpful..
Anyway, im taking an analyzing lit class in High School and that lead me to you guys. I play bass and 6string guitar; mostly mildly heavy rock and nu-metal like Chevelle and Incubus. Planning on posting on the 1984 forum in a bit...
Welcome to the forum, Idril. I hope that your kids will start playing the games less and they will let you have computer more.
Welcome Contradict and Pop Princess.
i liked the short stories by woolf.but couldnt get myself through with "to the ligthhouse".
mark on the wall is a fantastic story
HI!
I'm Minette and I am a 71 year old grandmother. I live in a very small town in Pennsylvania right at the border with Maryland and Delaware. I have been an avid and passionate reader all my life. I am so glad I accidentally found this forum.
Hi Minette , welcome aboard! Hope to see you around :)
Hi minette! I hope that you will have a good time here!

Hi amanda and goth! Welcome to the forum!
The eastern part of the state is pretty dismal, flat as far as the eye can see and except for shelter belts, not a tree in sight but the western part is a bit more geographically interesting, the Badlands are there and there's even a few hills every now and then. ;) What part of the state is your mother from?Quote:

hello  all new people
Hi, I just registered  My name's Janet, and I'm 14. I live Texas, which, by the way, is just wonderful... one word... heatstoke. Erm... I'm obsessed with computer games, more specifically, Sims. Fanatical reader, too. Once, I was riding my bike home home from school and reading at the same time. Ended up crashing into a car... luckily, a parked car. I wasn't going too fast, so the only one who ended up scarred was me... figures  Anyways, this site looks like fun :) I'm sure I'll enjoy myself
Welcome to all the new members. I hope you all enjoy your time here.

I'm Bandini - I used to post on here, but stopped for no particular reason. I hate re-unions, like some people hate goodbyes, so I decided to post as Chinaski; but then looked at my old avatar, and thought it was more me; then I searched 'Bandini' and saw that somebody was saying that I was a good laugh (or something like that) - so I changed back. I'm that shallow and fickle! So hello to all who knew me before - sorry for the duplicity.
I won't tell you much about me - I'd prefer you to make your own mind up.

OOh - I feel like a rose between two thorns! Realised I'm the only older newbie - adults still post on here right? I suddenly feel out of place and slightly seedy!
