Another creative game

This has nothing to do with obits. But I feel the need to share it with you. Especialy that we are in a thread of death.

The Grave

Alone, I fear of being so,
In a dark place and a cold one too
I'm afraid I can't breath
No one to talk to no one to hear.
Loneliness I was living in but I saw
Faces unknown and I felt
The sun in my face and cheeks.
But cold is where I'm and I freak
I can't move and I spend my time
lying and can't see the light.
Good bye my mother I'm gone
To join my brothers and I'm alone
In a long long jurney that never ends
Carrying a heavy burden and I spend
My time paying my debts and what is due
Till I'm someoned to pay the rest too.

This one is for Eva.

Smilingtears

Sorrow my heart cried
My soul flew and tried
In a world of death he went,
Lonly to bring back a friend,
In a land so far and remote
No eye could see no one could go
God alone has the power to do so
To call who He wants to him
Even the one doesn't like it too
And there my soul went
Right in heaven he found
Someoned near the Lord
Eva the one we ador

Read Yourself Goodbye, Adil

And did dear Adil suffer,
And did dear Adil Die?
Did the doctors 'round him cluster?
And did the mourners cry?
Was the fever on his noble brow,
Did pneumonia lay him low?
Did he catch mad disease from a cow,
Was it the tsetse fly that made him go?
None of these my dearest friends,
Attacked poor Adil Youseff—
He met the very worst of ends—
He read my poetry with all its trends—
Each written word from my mad pen—
And bored himself to death....

Pendragon

The Pendragons are a magical couple,
Casting spells wherever they appear.
Stage magic is their specialty
Sending people from there to here.

Alas, something terrible happened,
A horrific mishap, indeed
While sawing a dragon in half
Sabotage came from Roy and Siegfried.

That which was one is now two,
And much blood did Pendragon drip
The Germans went into the lockup
So Lance Burton now rules The Strip!

Today we regret to say that Pendragon, loyal member of the Online Literature Network, has been officially declared dead. He was unofficially dead for three hours before being discovered by St Bernards who faithfully sniffed him out from under much snow and rubble. It seems he was skiing in the Swiss Alps when suddenly, a totally surprising, wholly unexpected avalanche (oh no!) came rumbling down towards him.

And so, dear friends, he suffocated beneath metres of ice and snow.

(Though mind you the superstitious people of the village down below the mountain claim he was a victim of the Abominable Snowman.)

He will be missed. :(

The Burial Song of Robin Hood

There’s crying among the Merryfolk,
A sighing among the trees.
And Friar Tuck tolls the bell for chapel now,
It echoes through the leaves.

Among the folk in Lincoln Green this day?

Robin Hood has fallen—

But the fingers true that held the yew
Shall no longer hold a bow!
That evil nun let out his life,
We would have killed her, yet he said “Nay.”

Says Tuck as he reads the eulogy
Robin’s final curtain call.

Ding dong the bells rang,
Impty streets silence everywhere,
At mid-day darkness fell
For mistery was there.
Sounds of arows through the wind
Were heard and all stared,
Praying Evil to lose
Unfortunatly it prevailed.
Robin Fell but tried
To save his princess he loved.
Being caught by her eyes
So beautiful and could not be compared
To the sky shying, and was blinded
By love and beauty,
He met his desteny
By being distructed from his duty.

Remembrance

His place by the council fire is empty.
The black churchwarden pipe carefully kept.
Bound versions of things, that he had to say,
Remind us of Adil Youseff.
So humble and yet such a wise man.
Who among us is there that can take his place?
From among wreaths of smoke, the words that he spoke
Could lighten a load, or brighten a face.
And often at night when the fire burns low
It seems that I can see him again.
And hear that soft voice, telling me life’s full of choice,
See the quiet, gentle smile of my friend.
The stars go around in the heavens.
The sun raises and sets in the sky.
But we are dust in the wind, from the moment we begin:
And Adil tells me to fear not to die…

Pendragon

In his quest to become the first man to read "The Idiots guide to dragon hunting" while sitting on the geographical south pole, pendragon was lost.

Pendragon was well prepared for his journey he took all precautions, mittens, scarf, a double layer of socks unfortunately he couldn't prepare for everything, who would think after traveling so many miles in the devesating cold not 300 feet from the south pole he would be hit by a meteor. Services will be held as soon as the body thaws. The family is donating the meteor to a museum.

Tralam tralam tralam I heard
The sound of a horse flying like a bird
Black horse was it with no master
Speeding on the road so faster
Crackling fire under his palms
Was the remaining of a burned master
Who into the volcano was thrown
And burned to his last bone.
Papayahed hearing this loughed
Till his heart away passed
His eyes were widely open
And his mouth badly broken
Now dead and buried
And his memory we all carried.

I think all this lovely poery is being wasted here. We should maybe post them in the Personal Poetry section and return to the usual news postings for a while. :)

Please note that Literature Network website will be shut for 5 minutes (23:55- 00:00 GMT) on Monday, January 16, 2006 to commemorate one of its members, Adil Youssef.

The Literature Network lost one of its beloved members on Sunday when Adil, who was well-known for his tendency to ask many deep questions and sigh a lot on the face of impossibility of finding answers to them. It has been reported that Adil sighed one too many times last Sunday and his poor heart could no longer carry such a heavy burden anymore and gave in.

He will always be remembered by his upbeat posts on the Forum.
