We cannot possibly be talking about the same film. The Lady Asaji Washizu character is practically identical to Lady Macbeth, right down to the blood-stained hands that she cannot wipe clean. (I will say that I like AK's femme fatale better than WS's. The Lady Macbeth is wicked and monstrously ambitious, but AK turns her into something downright sinister :thumbs_up)Quote:

Well, this is not exactly a movie, but a 11-episode Japanese Drama. It's so awesome, a nice break after all the 7th Heavens and other WB dramas. If you're not used to Asian dramas, you may get tired from all the crying scenes. There are a few minus points for the way each problem ends (waaay too abrupt), but other than that it made me a happy person, especially because nearly all of the characters are eye candies. :)

Apart from Farenheit 9/11 (I don't really want to comment on it because I don't want to sound political but it is sort of tragicomedy for me) I last saw The Terminal with Tom Hanks. It was OK but at times I thought I was going to fall asleep. But the idea itself is original. Recommendable :)
i just recently caught nicholas nickleby on cable and WOW what a fantastic adaptation! i've never finished a Charles Dickens book (a bit of a bore) but i'll probably pickup NN after watching the movie. it was a absolutely brilliant piece of work! anyone else seen nicholas nickleby? it's out on DVD.
No, I'd really like to see it. Thanks for reminding me! The last movie I saw was one I really didn't want to see, and it lived up to my expectations--The Manchurian Candidate. Let's just leave it at that...

We saw the Bourne Supremecy last night. Plot, intrigue, action, character depth; what more can you ask for? Although I have not read Ludlum, I understand the movies digress from the books extensively. They are, however, extremely enjoyable in and off themselves. :thumbs_up

The House of Yes. It was a little goofy but ok, I'd give it a 7.
The Officer's Ward
A good exploration of what it means to have a facial disability, and a slight commentary on war. It suffers from a rather inconclusive ending and could have been more penetrating in its analysis of the evils of war. I guess I would give it 7/10.

All I can say is bad, very bad...
I can't say he's my favorite. Visually I like both Malick and Fellini better, but AK was a true master. Definitely in my top ten. (That sounds like another thread starter.)Quote:
