Marking up your books or no (as in leaving them as pristine as possible) ?

I like the cut o' yer jib, there, tailor, as this is one I've been aforetime. It is my inclination, ideally, to take notes when reading a worthwhile book, though not necessarily in the margins of the book, though this was a custom among scholars in years gone by. On the other hand, note taking interrupts the narrative and "pops" one out of that internally focused state in which transcendence takes place. In short, no, I don't take notes, but I heartily approve of it. And more to the point, books are sacred, so leaving pristine appeals to me innately.

Going downstairs for the other half of the meatball sandwich you got at Subway, as I'm about to do, or remaining upstairs, hungry and grouchy, which is the other possibility, as I'm too freaking lazy to get up?

Remaining upstairs -- Have some discipline (wo)man! You halved that sam'wich for a reason.

The latter, Comedian. I make it a point never to answer the phone, unless it's a family member or a Victoria's Secret model. They can be so bothersome, pestering me in the middle of the night, begging to come over and be comforted. And they're always leaving their lingerie in my sock drawer.

Get up, get a tissue and blow one's nose, or continue sitting on the couch comfortably sniffing?

Answer: Get a tissue! I can only take so much sniffling...

Snowboard in the mountains or surf in the tropics?

Why can't I snowboard in the tropics? Where there's a will, there's a way. And technically I can't do either. Very technically, as in I'd stand on either and immediately fall over. But ideally I think I'd like to surf.

Learn Welsh or learn Egyptian hieroglyphics?

Welsh.

Would you rather work in Academia or the corporate world?

Is that even a question? Especially here. Academia, baby. The corporate world can gobble my kosher hot dog.

Holiday/Vacation in Italy or the UK?

Dang, son, that's a tough one for me. I have been an Anglophile most of my life. I've been to the UK heaps of times, and love it, so my natural inclination is to go there. On the other hand, a relaxed vacation in Italy with some curvy Italian girls sounds just the ticket right now, so I'm going to opt for that one.

cross country by train or car?

Oh, train, definitely. In fact, I've been considering a luxury train trip through Alberta and the Canadian Rockies this summer. Sounds lovely, just depends on whether I can afford it and on how many moose I'll have to share a cabin with.

Bigamy - I would love to shoot large wildlife in the Serengeti with a fully automatic DSLR.
