EWG's Frankenstein !
Hocus Pocus (by Focus) or Popcorn (by Hot Butter) ?
unfortunately im on a connection where I cannot hunt up popcorn, but I do know and like hocus pocus, so i'll go with that; its a fun song.
yoda or spock? (boy how is that for a tough one!)
Spock. Yoda is cool and all, but he's short and no fun at parties, whereas Mr. Spock, I hear, is the first to put a lampshade on his head.
You guys asked some great questions there, the last few, but the answers were often a bit terse for my taste. One word, even. Why waste a fun question like that? Tell us more, like whether you'd prefer the 60s for the free acid, or the 80s for the Sonny Crockett sports jacket with the push-up sleeves?
New Wave or Glam Metal? Give examples, please, and show your work.
well I had to do some reading:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_wave_music
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glam_metal
the former mentions the ramones, talking heads, blondie, duran duran and the cars (what?)
the later mentions Mötley Crüe, Quiet Riot, Bon Jovi, poison, and warrant.
ive got a smattering of music from both genres but am going to give the slight lean due to some songs I really enjoy from motley crue and bon jovi, plus I like the groups that Wikipedia said from whom the glam folks found their roots.
who would you rather see in concert, Florence and the machine, and the black keys, or aerosmith and the rolling stones?
<groans> Well, it would definitely be the Stones (or their remains, as the case may be) and Aerosmith (ditto), 'cause I wouldn't listen to the first two groups with your ears, but if there were an option to avoid the lot of them I would.
Would you rather get revenge on your worst enemy or sleep with the hottest chick you've ever seen?
Sex is momentary but the satisfaction of revenge is everlasting
If possible would you rather travel back in time to the era of your choice, or travel into the far future?
Far future for sure; prolly the sci-fi fan in me looking for utopia and wondering if we made it to the stars.
Davy Jones or David Jones (Bowie) ?
cake
Temple run or candy crush ?
I was going to say Davy Jones because in my mind I was thinking of the pirate version of the Grim Reaper as in Davy Jones Locker, but I don't think that is what you mean.
Candy crush I guess; I've never played either (games right?) but CC sounds more poetic.
lol Any interpretation is fine Dark Muse. Do you have a This or That ? (he asked at ~ 3am PST)
Sitcoms or Dramas?
Dramas.
Shakespeare's Comedies or Histories?
north star, I wrote you this on another thread but I think you haven't seen it:
north star---if you like queen, can I encourage you to hunt up Jordan smith's performance of "somebody to love" from last weeks episode of "the voice" on nbc.
adam Levine, one of the professional recording artists called it simply the best performance he's ever seen. I absolutely loved it.
all of Shakespeare is a struggle for me, and while I do like history, am going to go slight lean with comedy. a midsummer's night dream is my favorite Shakespeare (which might not be saying a whole lot given my success with him).
WWII histories or American civil war histories?
Eesh, that's a good one. I will say WWII because its roots go so deep and encompass just about everything. There are facts and truths and lessons from that war that escape most people even today.
Tailor, I haven't though of the non-Bowie Davy Jones in a dog's age, and I'm talking about a dog wot's been in suspended animation, so thanks for that. ;-)
Frozen pipes, like I have in my house, such that I can't have a shower or run the tap, or non-frozen pipes. Think hard, lads, I know this is a tough one.
Cheers, Bounty. Smith's performance is indeed superb. Mercury was one of the greatest singers ever and it's rarely a good idea to sing Queen as it's near impossible to sound even half decent in the comparison. The tremendous energy more than made up for some infinitesimal nitpicks.
WWII histories by far for me too, and even over Finnish civil war histories. Perhaps the most interesting war in the history of mankind so far.
Frozen pipes? That is a hard one, certainly, but not a tough to call... I'll take the non-frozen pipes ;)
Jazz from before 1959 or after 1960?
