My uncle died while golfing, a friend in college while hiking....
Interesting subject...
Same Question???
Morbid, maybe, but not necessarily depressing.
As a fairly morbid person myself; I'll answer: Horribly
Horrible deaths tend to be quick. That's what I'm after. Something quick that will give my friends a great story to tell.
"Did you hear about Tim? He was splattered all over the sidewalk when that frozen chunk of airplane poop fell on his head!" or "He was sliced in half length-wise when he tripped and fell on the train tracks!" or "He was trying to fix his own furnace..... they still can't find all of the pieces of him!"
Same question simply because I can't think of another one.
Zippy, BlueSky! I was just about to post. :) Sheesh Bibliophile rush job here... :)
Peacefully and in my sleep without having suffered any long term illnesses, having seen too many loved ones go through that. But also that my death would not cause any others pain.
on dying, what would your last wish be?
hmmm i guess i'd like to die with some dignity, if u know what i mean.
Question: Is it really that weird to be in love with ur window-tree?! I dont know why everyone seems to be finding it peculiar (they think i'm slowly going nuts!) but I do love it. Does it sound as fishy to u as my other acquaintances? :(
edit: oops my mistake, didnt see the post above me at that moment. i'm a slow runner!
okay my last wish will be to have a black seduction icecream. yeah u heard it right. ;)
Welllll, in love? or deeply infatuated? I just moved and am deeply infatuated with the Ducks that live near the pond just outside my patio. I could watch them for hours. I am completely and totally taken with them, they waddle around and chase each other and dive for fish.
Same question as I'd like to know anothers opinion as well.
Fast moving thread...'Symphony' below is for your
If I knew what a 'window tree' was, then maybe I could comment. What is it? :)
Papayahed... think you, me and symph practically simultaneous...
Window-tree= The tree at ur window :p
Papaya, thanks for ur answer, i guess yeah it could be something like a deep infatuation, all i know is i feel a lot for this tree, deeply. :) And like u and ur ducks, i can watch it for hours when its raining and its leaves are shivering.
alright, next question: If u could be another person, who would u have chosen? (can be both friends or great personalities)
hmm... this is hard. Someone with a lot of money who never has to worry about working. Ever. That way, I could spend as much time as I want writing and reading and being the lazy person I am at heart. Sorry, no single person comes to mind (cough cough *Paris Hilton, but trust me, that money and life would not have been wasted on me. Truthfully, I can't stand her irresponsible lifestyle. No, that money would have gone to a good place and I would have time to write something decent instead of the slop that has been springing forth from my pen as of late...:flare: but I digress... )
Come on; you would want to be lazy too.
Next question: If Hollywood made a movie about your life, what would it be called and who would star as you?
A Courageous Eccentric: Tales of a Confirmed Bibliophile, starring Cate Blanchett.
But she (unfortunately) doesn't look like me.
Same question, it's a good one.
Sam Elliott stars in "What a Long Strange Trip its Been"
Same ???
Scarlett Johansson: as Eliza in Quicksilver Vol. I of the Baroque Cycle. Would be a better film. But me by S.J. in "Strange Days"
Same question: good one.
"For Jonah, who will be 25 in the year 2000"
Are we ever going to be able to reconcile the General Theory of Relativity with Quantum Dynamics?
You know, I pondered that one only yesterday, whilst walking my dog... I can't say, so I guess we won't be finding out today, at any rate...
Your family is planning a super big event for your next birthday, and have decided to have a live band play in your honor. Assuming that they have the capabilities to pull this off, which band would you like to perform?
um... mine wouldn't be a band, it would be a singer. but having to keep on the topic i would say rascal flatts.
now my turn to get your brains thinking-what's the most important thing in life to you, your goal? (i'm wanna answer it myself but i'll be nice and have you.)
p.s. concerning who the singer would be, going off subjuect, it is my alltime favorte, one and only, my inspiration- Billy Gilman. (Andya already knows that.)
Hmm...I don't really have a specific goal that dominates my life, but I hold striving for education and standing up for my various beliefs very important.
What article of clothing holds the most sentimental value for you and why?
I have a very old very threadbare sweatshirt that I stole from my first boyfriend (the one that I posted about dying in a motorcycle accident). I treasure it because it is all I have (other than my somewhat tainted memories) to remember him by.... no pictures or anything else.
That's an interesting question, so I'll pass it along.
Well, I had a pair of really cool jeans that I embroidered a bumble bee on the right side pocket. I wore those jeans till they basically wore out, but couldn't find the capacity to toss them in the junk. Those jeans went through thick and thin with me (hmmmm ... they actually did, because my weight has fluctuated back and forth over the years), so yeah, that answers the question.
Good question, so I will pose it to the next poster...
An old Jerry Garcia T-shirt, threadbare and lots of holes in it..started out, more or less as a joke, years ago when I realized it had made a few concert trips to see the Grateful Dead with me, my roommate at that time was heading to a show without me and took the shirt, since then it has made more trips to the various shows with me and a couple of other friends...
it has retired now and hangs, in the back of my closet with lots of memories.
Interesting question, I'll pass it along also...
and here I thought I was the only one that hung on to old clothes that bring back memories...:D
An old white pineapple lace dress that was first my grandmother's, my Mother's, and now mine. I've only worn it twice but it's such a pretty dress with lots of history in it.
Why does it get so hot on days you have to concentrate on something intensely boring?
Because Nature is a Mother.
What magazines do you subscribe to?
None.
When you feel upset, what do you do usually to cheer yourself up?
One of two things...try a long walk or expensive coffee or both Really upset...start loading a backpack or canoe.
Since Quasimodo didn't ask a new question; I too' will answer Pensive's.
What do I do to cheer myself up when feeling blue? The answer should come as no surprise to anyone on this forum....... Loose myself in the pages of a book! Isn't escapism a wonderful thing!?!
If you could choose one LitNet Member to meet in person, who would it be?
I can only choose one? That is hardly fair - that's like making me choose my favorite pair of shoes. ok here goes: bibschernightbadvirgjay and I know I'm forgetting someone or at least a few.
Same question.
I am thinking I would like to meet some of the peeps from the other side of the pond.
I can't narrow it down to just one person.
Is there anyone on Lit Net that you absolutely don't want to meet? (a yes or no will suffice ;) )
Nope. There is no one on the LitNet that I do not want to meet. Did I say that right? I think so.
OK, back to the question before the last. Who from the LitNet do you want to meet? One person, mind. :)
Well, I'd have like to have met that Starrwriter person, they sounded so incredibly interesting and fun. I believe that they have been banned , but I still select Starrwriter (hope I spelled the name correctly). Note that there would be a helluva party if we LitNet'ers ever got together... Downright dangerous, methinks!
What song triggers emotional memories for you when you hear it?
several... first come to mind is "we go on" by billy gilman. i sang it to myself the day my bunny died. another is "have you forgotten". it's about 9-11 and the war in iraq. makes me tingle inside when i hear it.
next question... i'm going to be less depressing- what's the stupid joke you ever heard?
still acting stupid! question still up.
my computar is still acting stupid!
The stupidest joke I've ever heard was...
"Knock, knock."
And that was it... haha.
What's your absolute favorite candy/bar of chocolate?
At last a meaningful question: I choose truffles in dark chocolate.
Quasimodo you didn't add a question so I'll just anser and add a new question. Favorite candy is Dove dark chocolate. I love to have it with a glass of Merlot.
What was the advice somone gave you that had the most profound effect on your life?
Dark chooocolate *melts* ehehe.
I think it might have been not to give up. You know, in a very serious kind of a way. I'm trying my best.
Who has been the most helpful in your life?
I'd have to say the witching hours between three AM and dawn. Just seems like things are clicking at that time. Next question: Besides the time of day, what about the physical environment that brings out the muse?
Music. I have to listen to emo music, feel melancholy, and be at my computer to type something elegant, poetic, and/or meaningful.
What song/poem reminds you of yourself?
Freezing cold storm going on outside, where the wind howls. There is absolute silence in the house, except for the tick, tick, tick of my trusty clock. And my feet are warmed by none other than my lovely companion, Pepper. Those are the physical conditions that render success (usually).
In the summertime? Well, I guess that I suck at writing...
Oh, Brigitte beat me to answer Quasi's question....
OK, the song that reminds me of me would have to be All Apologies, Nirvana
Next question: How old do you think going on a first date should be?
Haha, kinda confused by the question. I'm thiiinking you mean how old should a person be when they go on a first date and not when is too old to go on a first date. *confuzzled*
I'm soo... icky about dating (and conservative, whereas I'm normally really liberal)... so 18. XD;;
How many books is "too many books" to be reading all at one time? :>
No more than three except when researching something and that doesn't mean you are actually reading said books. quasimodo1
