Yeah, I donated to locks of love, which was why my hair used to be really short, but it looks really good if you get a good hair cut to go with it. So, not only are you giving your hair, you're gaining a pretty darn good look.

I've always had short hair, it's usually better than long hair. It doesn't get in your food, in your eyes or in the hands of children who pull at it like maniacs.
Now, it's a bit long (by my waist) but it's a bit cumbersome, I like it but I love my short hair.
I have pretty long hair. There were times in my life when it was really short, and I hated it. While I agree that it can be a pain long, most of the time I have it up and out of the way. But, doing it this way, I have more choices on what to do with it for big occassions and such.
I don't die or style my hair. As a result, it is completely natural and heathly. When I go for hair cuts, and I change my hair dresser; I always get compliments. I especially find this funny when I go to NY to get my hair done. Most of the hair dressers ask "how do I keep it so healthy?" Meanwhile, they are foiling, perming, and blow drying others.
Yeah, I just am not too sure about what to do. I went to Walgreens to see if they had that Sally Hansen polish, but it was sold out, of course. I am actually skeptical, anyway. I once bought this nail care kit from QVC. It was the ProStrong stuff that they sell. Supposedly this was a miracle worker for everyone. I followed directions. I did everything as I was told to do. You know what? This polish that was supposed to make the nails stronger actually made my nails weaker. So to go from already weak nails to something worse didn't make me happy at all.
I used to tell my ex that was going to happen to him because he wore a baseball cap all the time. I was just being an unpleasant person when I did that. One day I noticed he was losing his hair. I never told him because I didn't know how to broach the subject. When he got his hair cut, and found this out, I never heard the end of it because I didn't tell him. Whether or not that had to do with his wearing a cap all the time, I don't know. Still, I think his hair flattened because he wore a hat ALL the time.Quote:
My Mom used to tell me if I wore a hat my hair would fall out.:( I don't know. Last summer my hair was always in a ponytail and after a while I noticed breakage around my hair line. I had unwanted bangs for a little while until it grew back.
I wondered that, too. But why can't the hairstylists give me an answer like this. I just wish they'd give me something! Anyway, I hate how my hair seems to fall out when I wash my hair. That bothers me so much more than when I just brush it. Then when I comb it out after the washing, the amount of hair that falls out then is just absurd!
Tangled hair is an issue with me, too, these days! I used to have that all the time when I was a kid It stopped, but now these past couple of months have been ridiculous. My hair is actually fine when I have it down (unless it is windy - then it slightly tangles). The tangling issue is when I was my hair. I always comb my hair out before I wash it. Then, while washing, it tangles up. So that fact doesn't help with the falling out fact at all. :( I tried to use one of those de-tangling shampoos. That almost helped to tangle it more. I guess I am just hopeless. :)
Well my hair grows quite fast so I tend to switch from almost waist length air to quite short hair. And one of the best things about it is that short hair - or having your hair cut short helps control the evil split ends ( although Ill probably only ever get rid of them if I shave my head ..which I keep thinking about). Unless your hair has a tendency to like to stand up on end short hair can be neater and easier to handle than long hair and you hardly ever get toothpaste in it if you are really really sleepy in the mornings when you brush your teeth and dont realise what you are doing. Plus change is good oh and Ive always found that my hair growns back thicker afetr a drastic cut - which is great for me anyway as I have super fine hair. you dont use half as much shampoo or conditioner. you can do drastically differnt things with gel. You get less hot ( actually scher maybe you should wait till march time i was freezing last time I cut my hair short just before winter because you never quite appreicate how much extra warmth your hair stores.)
I know one of my sisters who has rather unruly hair will now never have it long again becasue she can control it better when its short . Im the opposite well unless I have a really sever inverted bob so that its about chin length at the front and less than half an inch long at the back. A bit like the girl in this

My hair stopped getting tangled when I wash it when I started to use conditioner. My biggest problem with washing my hair is the fact that having a really dry skin means that my scalp is always very dry and hurts after I wash my hair. The bright side is that my hair stays clean very long and I only have to wash it once a week.
Thanks for the encouragement, I guess? :pGetting a free hair cut is not my priority really and I won't be getting one anyway as I am sending it from the UK to the US (found out that in the UK there isn't a place as such where you can donate your hair to).
It is just something I really want to do... more than simply donating couple of pounds a month. Thanks for the encouraging words, Night. I don't have split ends and I don't want it to get any thicker as I often look like I am carrying two heads already but your sister might be right; couple of people I have talked to said it is easier to dab some gel etc on the short hair and keep it under control.
We will find out, won't we? :D
My hairdresser thinks I should wait for another month or two to get it a little bit longer so that I won't look like a toddler who had his first hair cut but it is beginning to annoy me because I end up putting into a messy bun and that gives me a headache after a while.
I got my hair cut real short one time, planning on donating to locks of love, but I never got around to sending out my hair. It's in a plastic bag somewhere. I forgot about it til just now.
Hahaha. Most places will cut it and send it off for you...at least where I am they do...
Yeah, but I wanted my aunt to cut it.
Oh. okay. It was like home cut...Mkay, I'm on the same page as you now! lol
lol, yeah. sorry I didn't really explain well.
Oh, well.
The deed is done.
Now I have got 2-3 years to think what I have done.
