To Dante Wodehouse:
I am no longer apathetic (unless it involves cerain kinds of politics, which we don't discuss here) and I used to be extremely arrogant but have mostly cured myself of that and maybe even gathered a measure of humility. Did you know that the root of the word "arrogance" comes from the Latin verb...arrago... I sieze for myself. Interesting. Perhaps you confuse some of what you call arrogance with a level of confidence. quasimodo1

My greatest fault? I'm just to damn cute.:D
What would be the first thing you do when you move to a new town?
-
new town
Interesting you should ask that. It is a question that has been with me. First, I would not go to a bar or any such place. But that is what I would not do. I guess I'd have a topo map of it and check out what nature provided in the way of park or wilderness. quasimodo1
-
The first thing that I would do is ride my bike around the new neighborhood, just to familiarize myself with what I shall be looking at for however long.
What is your favorite stir-fry item?
-
Chicken Teri-aki. Which I probably misspelled! http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...Kane/Loser.gif
What has been the defining point of your life so far?

Perspectives.... My dad saved me from drowning ... nothing else matters but family and the fight to survive, and embracing the beauty in life.
Good question, Pen :)

The fact that throughout my rough childhood I was able to survive and that I know that no matter what happens I will be okay..

To Pendragon:
Defining part of a life...well...I've had a few. The latest, the death of my wife. Just how defining, thankfully, not suicidilly defining. Waiting for another, hopefully, more uplifting. quasimodo1
-
My condolences and prayers, Quasi. That would be hard to deal with, and I could not even begin to know how you must have felt. I trust that things will work out for you. We cannot bring them back, but we can keep their memory alive. That is their legacy from us. And perhaps one day, we can go to them. My heart to yours, mon ami. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...lies/Peace.gif
What would you say to a friend in this situtation?
-

What's the last thing that made you laugh?

In the "I won the lottery" thread by Bakiryu, I posted that my dad sometimes calls me sue-sue. Bakiryu posted back and said, "I like that one, but I hope your dad's not a lawyer!"
do you have a favorite sport? what is it?
-
Basketball. Before I became disabled and gained all this weight, I played almost every day with guys almost half my age. Loved it! Had a tee-shirt here for winning the foul shot competetion. It took time for me to develop hand/eye coordination, but when I did, I was deadly with a basketball.http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...Basketball.gif
Were you ever teased by other kids when you grew up or currently? Why?
-
I was teased by kids growing up because of my extremely difficult to pronounce/spell last name (it was Icelandic, and that's all I shall say). But the bright side is that they gave me a cool nickname that I still use to this day, lol.
I interrupt this thread to offer my sincere good wishes to Quasimodo and family in their loss. God Bless.
I will ask the next poster when they were small, they may have had a dream as to "what will you be when you grow up". If you are not too shy, can I ask what yours was? :)

Have you ever loved someone and not told them?
-
yes. I'm that kinda of person that loves someone but will never ever tell them. I'm too shy and fear rejection, I guess.
same question.
-
Yes, loving from afar was a great passtime of mine, sigh. But my life turned out not too bad, so it cannot be a bad thing methinks.
I will pose that same question to you, poster below me!
-
To kiz_paws:
Loving from afar, yes, i know about that. Tried it for quite a while with god and his kin. No luck there. Got married, that worked much better but people don't live forever, can you believe it? Tried unrequieted love too, it was ok and the turbulence level was way down. Think i'll just try "like" for awhile. quasimodo1
-
Well, i guess I'll just answer the same again,
I myself am not a big lover from afar. I have experienced unrequited love, but I tend to let the person know, and find out that way. I guess then, if the love is unrequited, at least i'll know there's no chance and be able to move on.
Am happily engaged now though.
