Heya, I'm Switch. I am a writer who likes to try different forums and styles of writing to find out what people like and will read. I am Southern, and have a lilt of southern mentality and accent in my writing. I write a lot of freestyle and off the cuff straight from brain to written word without thinking. This can oft earn either fans or foes. It's okay, I like opinions and do not profess to be professional at writing. It is just a joy for me to create characters and storylines. It is a release for me, as it is for most writers. I hope you will at least read my ramblings and comment so I can better at it.
Hiii there...
My real name is Tommaso, i am eighteen.
I come from Italy, a really nice country, you should visit it
Sorry for my bad english, i do my best in order to improve it
My nickname is Heidy because i love one philosopher, Heidegger, and i am sure that Heidegger's closer friends called him heidy :)
Heidy is also a character of a cartoon, a small child that lives with his grandfather on one mountain among sheeps and nature. But i don't wanna make you bored with this story.
I decided to register myself here for two main reason:
1) I wanna learn english having fun
2) Next week i am having the last exam and i will leave school in order to apply at medicine university. But i am sad because i don't wanna leave philosphy, literature...at the beginning, five years ago when i started high school i hated it..but step by step i fell in love and now i can't imagine one life without it.
So i would like to keep reading books and comment these with you :)
I will start with "der prozess" by Kafka that is the last book i red.
I must admit that i have red it two times and i haven't understood it yet at all ahaha
it's a really hard book and i would like to know what do u think about it.
i think it's enough..
Nice to meet you all
:P
Hi!
I used to be a member about 4 years ago but recently decided to rejoin the forums! I look forward to contributing and reading everyone's thoughts and opinions!
Hello everyone,
I just stumbled across this forum today while I was researching which Charles Dickens book I should read first. My lucky day! I am sure that I will be spending some of my spare time on here whenever I take a break from the latest book that I have my nose in. You see I don't have a "bucket list" but actually a "reading list". My goal is to read all of the greats of classic literature!
So anyway, it is nice to meet you all and now I must get back to Tolkien.
Hello, I'm Halder. I'm just an undergraduate student in college. I've liked writing small stories as a hobby for a long time, and I just thought it may be cool to be able to see what other people write and to get criticism and advice on how to write better. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading things that everybody writes and learning a lot. Nice to meet you!
Hey guys my name is Casper and I just joined the site. I'm really friendly and love to talk about basically everything. If you're interested, drop me a line.
I am new to this site and was happy to find it. It is hard to remember all of the poems I used to know and I am happy to be able to look them up.
I am retired:biggrin5: and do whatever I wish now. Yeah!!!
I do quilting, crochet and cross stitch. I have more than I can do as I have saved material and thread for years and the problem is where to begin. I have made two quilts and a table topper thus far and am doing counted cross stitch picture for my daughter. It is hard to see the holes in the cloth so it is going very slow.
I hope to be able to use this site a great deal.
Hello everyone,
I spent much of my youth consuming every book available. After that I was mostly concerned with the Bible and sacred texts, spending more than ten years with these as my primary focus, and working hard as a volunteer minister. Welding and steel fitting is my trade, and I have always considered myself more of an artisan than anything else.
Some of my pursuits include weightlifting, bow hunting, and backpacking.
To instill a love of reading in my two children is a personal goal of mine, and lately, the past year, I have been reading classic literature with renewed vigor myself.
Thank you all for having me.

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I've been a member of a forum, but I'm excited to join this vibrant conversation about my favorite thing - literature! I am a philosophy major at a small northeastern liberal arts college currently seriously considering switching to an English major (I would do it if it weren't for all the theory of, in my opinion, dubious philosophical worth I'd have to go through). My favorite kind of literature is epic poetry (especially the Odyssey), Romantic poetry, and especially Modernist prose. I've loved Virginia Woolf for a long time now and I've been inspired by A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man multiple times. I picked up Faulkner for the first time this summer and enjoyed him immensely even though I'm sure I barely understood him. I've started the monumental task of reading In Search of Lost Time (the Kilmartin translation) and I'm absolutely loving how poetic it is. Too bad I'll never speak French. Although I am minoring in German so I can hope to someday read Kafka in the original.
I'm very interested in the philosophy of art and the artistic process, even though I doubt if I'll ever be able to write something creative myself. As a fair warning, I suspect that I can be a little irritating in debates because I basically follow the Socratic method and, I know, no one likes a gadfly. I have two pet peeves that I'll always be willing to get into a debate over (and, admittedly, never admit that I'm wrong about): when people speak of artistic intent like it's a knowable entity and when people try to impose anything but subjective value judgments on works of art.
As for my name, mauve is my favorite color. It's very floral.
That's all for my introduction - I'm excited to get to know members of the forum!
Hello to everyone who has come before me! I've already been on these sites and gave a little introduction, that was nearly a year ago and I didn't come back after! But, hopefully I will make more of a contribution now, as a more widely-read guy!
Hi, I joined your site for other points of view on the way to look at some aspects of characters in some of the plays i get involved in.
Hello everybody. My name is marcela. I am from panama. It is a pleasure to be here. I hope we can share many experiences.
English is my second language since spanish is my native one. I really enjoy reading and listening to music.
Found this site today whilst looking for reference material. Always good to see active forums and talk with interesting and passionate people. Have bookmarked and hope to contribute to the community in the future.
Hi everyone! I'm new to this community... I'm hoping to learn new stuff about literature. Have a great day everyone!///
Recently retired. I was one of those dreamy kids who lived life through books. And then life got in the way. Most of what I read for 40 years was 'quick and easy.' I'm ready to complete my list of 'must read' books.
Hello everyone! Looking forward to engaging in nice conversations and brainstorming with all of you. You can all call me Byron. :D
Welcome Byron. Good to have you here.
I am a long ago English major who decided to begin a summer project of reading the entire works of William Shakespeare and writing about the experience at www.elenalouiserichmond.com. I found my way onto this site because I needed the last lines of King Lear for my blog and was too lazy to go get my Pelican Shakespeare and look them up. I am hoping to have some interesting conversations and much elucidation of texts!
Hi,my name is louis and i'm a student of MBA..any other question ?? :)
Hello,
I am interested in networking in here, and gathering industry knowledge as I begin my journey through unfolding a novel. Any help, guidance, etc, will be well received, and I will do my best in attempts of repaying any and all favors on the matter at hand. I have always written singularily, solitary, as it is a cathartic means for me to release an overflow of wanton needs that repudiate silence, and failed communication. I have been given advice to join up on a forum for best practices, and critical analysis and feedback. Thanks for having me, wish me luck,
yours digitally,
B J Patrick
Hi i'm Neil. I come from wales, am 13 years old and an avid reader.
Hi everyone, I'm a new writer on this site. I'd love it if people read my stories ^_^ You all can call me Laaraula.
Welcome everyone. Please find a forum and start posting!
Hey all, I just found out this place existed. I'm a Creative Writing major at the University of Mary Washington, and I'm looking to ramp up the quality of my writing for graduate school. Nice to meet you all!
Hello everyone Iam also new to this community
I hope to share lots of treasures here with you!
See you later:driving:
Hello. :)
er, I'm 36, and live with my hubby and little boy. I am not really what you would call a writer, I am an artist/illustrator. Apart from illustrating books in the sense of creating a picture to go with the text, I produce/reproduce old manuscripts/documents with illumination and/or calligraphy. A lot of my work involves this type of illustration (so I apologise in advance, I am terrible with the computer and internet, and am much more at home with a quill/pen/brush/pencil :D )
I love the old classics, Dickens etc and I do tend to veer more towards the Victorian writers as opposed to other periods of time. I have tried to read modern lit, but it just doesn't do it for me.
I love anything to do with King Arthur, (makes sense really, living in Cornwall, and am lucky enough to live not that far away from Tintagel), lots of inspiration for me for all my illustrative needs. It pretty much makes sense, that in order to be an illustrator, I do indeed have a big interest in books, and do read a lot ;D
I love watching documentaries (particularly anything to do with history), and I love being outdoors, I go walking quite a lot.
I can't think of anything else to write :S Apart from I am quite shy, and I may not post stacks and stacks, only when passionate on a subject/book ;) I am not one of these people that MUST interact on a daily basis without fail. Hope to have some interesting convos and poss make some interesting friends on here. :)
Welcome all! :)
Glad to see so many interesting new people on board!
Hello everyone,
I'm a 20 year-old guy from Portugal who has been reading this forum for a long time and finally decided to join. It's interesting to find out how different people have different interpretations and take different lessons from the same book. That's why I always try to read other perspectives given by other readers here in the forum.
Hi! I'm Caitlin. I live in Scotland and I like books. That's pretty much it.
It's nice to (kind of) meet all of you!
Hi everyone, how are things with you'll. I am new to this forum. I want to learn and share many wonderful things about literature..Love you all
Hello everyone,
I just joined and I'm hoping this will be a good place to start getting some on the things I write more exposure. I'm an artist really. I do color pencil drawings, but when you sit there all alone with yourself creative ideas flow out which can't be denied so you write them down. I like to travel. I love Charlie Chaplin. I have most of his shorts, now all I need are his longs. I like music, Blues, Swing, Rock-A-Billy, early Rock and Roll, and British Invasion Progressive Rock bands. I've written a story about one of them which I hope to share with you soon.
I am happy to join The Literature Network Forum..
Hello there!
I think this is the third time I've tried to make a user here, but it's the first time that it actually worked...technology and I don't make good friends, sometimes.
I'm in highschool, and sorta-kinda-maybe want to be an English teacher.
Musicals and books are the things that keep me sane :)
Although I HATE the current vampire/werewolf craze, I'm reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Once that's done, I'm going to read Inferno.
Nice to meet you!
Hi everyone,
I'm a medical student in the US and I like to read for pleasure in my spare time. Currently reading "Be Not Content" by william craddock. Memorable recent book: "Feast of Snakes" by Harry Crews.
I joined because for years I've been trying to track down a short story I read in high school, for which I have neither title nor author...we'll see if anyone knows it. Great to meet you all!
Hi, I'm new to this and have absolutely no idea as to how it works.
The actual reason I'm on here is because I was thinking about this book i read as a child and I can't remember the title but I remmeber the general plot of the story. I saw that someone else posted the plot of a story and got the title they were looking for. So I was wonder if you can help me, on where I can post this, or if I can do it right here :)
Thanks,
:blush5: fresh off the boat newbie
hello every one in this community, looking forward to the activities here...hope you all will support me... thank you.. :yesnod:
Hello, I am an avid reader who is tired of finishing a book and not having anyone to talk to about it!
I came to this forum after finishing The Island by Aldous Huxley. Funnily enough, The Island does not have it's own thread under the "Specific Books" category so I still have not satisfied that need.
I usually alternate between reading a classic, contemporary lit, political non-fiction, and literary junk-food. Right now I am reading Dean Koontz's 77 Shadow Street as my junk. It might be the worst book I have read in years! I don't know if I can finish it and I ALWAYS finish the books I start (except Moby Dick is still hanging over my head... but I started it when I was 12 so can you really blame me?!).
My favorite author is Mark Twain. My favorite book is Les Miserables. Until today I would have said my favorite guilty pleasure is Dean Koontz. I have a weakness for Sci-Fi. I love Star Wars and Star Trek, but hate fan fiction. I generally lose patience with any series longer than a trilogy although the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy" is my favorite series ever.
I generally won't even start a series unless the author has finished it lest the author die, the series meanders into obscurity, or I forget the nuances whilst waiting for the next book. For example, my husband tricked me into reading Game of Thrones while we were deployed and now everytime a new one comes out I have to read it by his side asking, "Who was Osha again?" "Where the heck is Arya now?" "Catelyn's a what?!" etc.
Oh and did I mention that I can be a bit long-winded...? :)
