Great interview, Night. :thumbs_up
I like your name, Laila. I know of the story of Laila-Majnu, a whole lot of movies have been made based on this story, but I didnt know Laila meant - Beauty in the Darkness of the Night. Its a name I have heard quite often.
Living in an organised chaos is interesting too...
Very informative.
Thanks, Night and the interviewing team. :D
I enjoyed your interview, Nighty :)
Oooh this time the interview is up! :)
It's the same for me!Quote:
Im also not at all organised no matter what you’ve been told by deluded people. I live in organised chaos and that’s the way I like it, I cant stand tidiness and pristine as if none is living there neatness but I like to have a plan.
Really? Hmm do you need someone to try the outcome of your baking efforts? :DQuote:
Oh and baking, I love baking.
You know, one of the things that amazed me the most when I moved to England is the amazing number of Muslims (well at least here as Nighty said) and during the first month or so I just couldn't help noticing and thinking about all those women with veil, wondering how it feels to be a Muslim in the UK which has such a different culture, for example towards alcohol... I found it fascinating to see such a huge number of Muslims being Muslim (I mean, in Italy there are certainly many, but I've seen women with veils maybe twice there, while here...) and the double culture they have (full veil/English accent) etc... So that's why I always ask questions to Nighty because I think she knows that I'm just curious :blush:Quote:
~ We all know that you are a Muslim then how do you manage to follow the religion in a country which is predominately non-Muslim? Do you feel an outsider? (suggested by Virgil)

Yaay, Night!! Love the interview!! Britain's cool, isn't it??
Now I like you even more...:D :DQuote:

~ We all know that you use smilies a lot. But what would like to know is why do you use them so much?
Uh coz I like then maybe…DUH! Well they always make me smile and I love smiling so why not? Also I guess I’m not very good at expressing my self in words the smilies make it easier in someways, I mean lets face in on a forum we’ve managed to cut out the major form of communication; body language and expressions.

Laila , a real interesting interview . I 'm busy lately and I drop from time to time to check if the interview has been posted , phew .it's worthy to be waited for.
Good luck with your univ , and I find it really interesting to be lock up in one place with books. I've always wished to be a librarian and it came time when I regretted that I haven't majored in library section .Quote:

I am sorry, Miss T.
Actually, when I was writing the questions for interview, I was so sure about this question being asked from you that I did not feel the need to re-check. A young girl's mistake. Forgive me for that, but hey! Don't call me a politician. :p Politicians don't make such silly mistakes. Even if they do so, they never put the blame on themselves.
As about the next interview, it has not been decided yet. But when it will be made sure (very soon), you people will be informed on this very thread. :)
well , Pensy, maybe you wanted these questions to be asked and Taleen was the victim:P
How about Adilyoussef to be the next?
Nominations do not work like this, please re-read the regulations here, thank you. :)
A bit off topic but about the librarian... do you think I can be something like that even if I haven't studied for that? (I know at the presentation of my MA they said that something about library is a possible career, I suppose taking care of the Russian section or something). Well I'm not even sure what a librarian does, besides the obvious stuff. Even if technically I am a library assistant/receptionist at the language centre.
I was thinking about it lately cos I know other ppl that did similar studies, I just didn't really know it existed back when I started Uni, it certainly doesn't exist where I studied and I've never really heard of it anywhere so it must be buried into some other path if you see what I mean.
Or maybe I can take an MA in library things after this :D And then one in translation so I have a few careers open :D But by that time no one would want me anymore cos I'd be 35 ;)
No actually most people do library that way via the MA later when they are in their 30s whatdo you mean 35? Your only 20-somthing! actualy I thing you just need a degree to become a librarian but you need a CILIP recognised degree to get a well paid job in libraries in the UK:D:D
did you already do Koa? that would be my guess for interview.
:) Night, I just loved your great interview...wow so many things we found out about our smilie "Nightshade".....terrific and so witty! I laughed too at the bandage remark. Yes, I agree - nice idea for a thread - funny things kids say. Amazing all the places you have traveled. I am jealous.
How fortune you have been to so many countries and at such a young age.
I love librarians - they are so so nice and so are the aids. Glad to hear you work in a library - one of my favorite places on earth!
I, too, like Elton John and John Denver. I saw the later live when he was not well known. May his music live on - great lyrics. The other artists (most of them anyway) you mentioned I grew up with...they are from my generation. :D How funny, so many young people now appreciate the Eagles, and other 70's groups and singers from my era!
Thanks for such an entertaining and enlightening interview. I smile a lot like you....totally believe in a good heathy smile to brighten the day for everyone ;) winks are nice, too!
Nightshade - love that name and Leila is beautiful...Yes, like the Clapton song.
They sure do a lot of interesting stuff.
When I first came to know that Night wants to be a liberarain, I always imagined her as the female lead in the movie 'The Mummy.' She knows everything about Humanaptra, this hidden city in Egypt, and she goes to find this city, and does a lot of adventurous things.....:D She wants to find this book about the dead, and she is so proud of being a librarian...:D
It does seem an interesting career to pursue...:D
I mean it....:D
Dont you remember the dialogue "I am a librarian"? It was so nicely said, and you must have seen what her knowledge about ancient Egypt led her to??
:D :D
yes she died.... andd almost bought about the end of the world
She died?? No...
Whatever happens, dont worry, we'll make a Mummy of yours ;)
It is becoming a chat thread, I suppose. And before any member of the interviewing team says something, I must ask has the next interviewee been decided?? :)
Okay, take your time :) But, dont take too much time :D
great interview, night.
i didn't realize you liked travelling so much. i mean i knew you travelled a lot but I had you down for a bit more of a homebody for some reason :)
what you said about the cultural diffs between Britain and muslim countries is very interseting, too!
It's great to get to know you better Night, thanks for doing the interview :)
I was wondering since I keep checking this thread - who is to be interviewed next?
The next person on the long short list is AIMUS SAGE.
Please send all relvant ( and some irrelevant) questions to me.
Very interesting interview, Night!!!
Aimus is next.
When's the interview Night? I couldn't PM you about it, I'm running out of time.
Ages yet umm lets say I want the questions by wedensday the 7th of feb.
So, finally I get to ask him -- Do you like turnips?? :p :D Its a verrryy relevant question, I say...:p
It is...its the very first on the list, :D:D
Oh yeah! Aimus! This is gonna be goood....
