I'm not a huge online forum kinda gal. I have a facebook that I occasionally wander over to, but that's about it. However, since my friends have repeatedly failed me on the book club front-- here I am. I have decided to hit the virtual world running. I'm not exactly sure what this site is all about or if it really is what I'm looking for, but it definitely caught my interest and I'm hopeful!!
If anyone is actually reading this, my name is Autumn. I'm 29, soon to be 30 and moderately freaking out about that. I have degrees in Communications and International Relations. I love music, theatre and all forms of self expression.
I'm far from your stereotypical intellectual type, but I would really like to read and discuss classic literature. I'm outgoing and outspoken so feel free to ask me anything you'd like to know!!
I'm a fourth year art student at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland. My tutors encouraged me to work more with writing since I do so much anyway. I started a blog and wanted to reach out to more people.
Since I chose to write my dissertation on time travel I've been reading stuff like Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut and Jorge Luis Borges collection Labyrinths. I've been looking into multiverse and other ideas related and writing a lot about that just now but sci fi in general is my bag. Hopefully I'll post something on here that will be worthy of attention for someone to look up my writing blog Mindscape Words.
Hello everyone!
I'm Jenny, live in LA, and I LOVE the written word. I studied literature in college, and I continue to enjoy reading and writing it. I'm trying to write a children's book by the end of this year, and my sister-in-law is going to be illustrating it, so I'm very excited.
Anyways, I look forward to being a part of this forum. It's great to meet people who are passionate about literature as I am. It's like a...

Hi, I'm a writer of short stories and poetry. I have written 3 so far each of which I am happy to offer to be adapted into a short film or a feature length film. 2 of them I'm happy to let use for free, provided I am credited. I am also in the process of a sequel to the one I'm not willing to let use of for free and a novel. I also write song lyrics and music and enjoy drawing.
Dear People,
I hope you think all of the things I write are good. I am a Jr. member so I am sorta new to this. But if you now me I'm a devil!

Hi,
This is my first post... I am Italian and I love English and American Literature!
Sorry for any error in syntax or vocabulary I may make, I used to write and speak a lot into English when working with tourists and travellers, now I am only able to see movies or to read books....!
Ciao!
Hello, I'm Tim from NJ, I'm new here, so just wanted to introduce myself.
Hi, I'm a dedicated English literature lover from Iran.
This is my first visit here and I think these forums rock!
Hello, I am Bhaskar. I live in this world. I am fifty. I love small stories. I try to write small stories. I hope to read stories written by others in the website and to send comment. I shall also send stories. I hope you will accept them.
Hi, I'm Mabel, I'm old but I love young adult stories and Stephanie Plum and my Kindle.
Hi, I'm Anthony. I love to analyze prose and review music on my blog: dysfunctional-harmony.tumblr.com
Hi Everyone!
I'm new to the forum and excited to exchange literary ideas with fellow bibliophiles.
A little about me: I returned to college in my late 40's to finish my undergrad degree at the University of Michigan in English Language and Literature. It was demanding, stimulating, and oh so wonderful! In order keep myself reading and discussing great works, I started a Classic Book Club with some great women 2 years ago. I've come to this site in the past to glean some wisdom for our discussions. I love to write and hope to publish one day. I'm not a good self-promoter, which could be code for a lack of confidence and/or courage to take some risks at rejection!
Besides reading and writing, I love to knit, cook, and my husband and I work with college students in our church. That has become a very rewarding part of my life--to invest time in the next generation. I have 2 daughters who are currently out of the nest, and we're enjoying a new phase of life. I have a passion for learning and knowledge and the way it opens me up to new possibilities and often new people. I speak a little German and want desperately to learn Spanish. Thanks, everyone!
This is a very difficult step!
It is not easy to speak about oneself and at the same time try to give a good first impression since it is by these words I will be remembered forever in this forum!
Just arriving to the neighborhood, being the new guy in the area, what can I say?:
"Hi everybody!" or "Esteemed fellow members!"
The first is overly familiar for a first time, too early to use it!
The second is... how to put it? Too pedantic!
So how to start this?
Well, close the eyes and jump into the arena:
Hello forum people, I am happy to share this place with you all!
(OK, it seems fifty-fifty)
Now, the second part is as hard as the first: How do I describe myself?
"I am a writer!" No, no, too early to be a writer, maybe with time I will earn the definition but not now.
"I am an amateur writer!" This is true, but I do not like to show me too humble after all!
Here we go:
I love to write and I think here I have the opportunity to make my work known and get evaluated, to participate in a place with talented people who may review, edit, and comment my need to endow posterity with a string of words in disguise of a story. And with time, learn to reciprocate in kind.
My 'bio' is plain enough:
I was born! Undoubtedly!
Then I tried hard to recognize the difference between the white and black that gives form to the letters that make the words of our beautiful language, and now, in the spaces that my work and travels allow me, I try to become a "storyteller".
In my eagerness to know the end of a tale when I am writing, I end up writing micro-stories, mini-stories, or nano-stories since I cannot wait all the time to reach the end of a novel.
Having in mind a statement made by Stephen King about his will to write a short story always ends in a big volume, I will end this introduction here, before it takes the path toward a lengthy script.
I must also add, that the similitude with Mr. King in writing, is only in the way I can make grow a description of myself. Unfortunately, there is no similitude en talent!
Thank you for reading all this rigmarole!
hi all .. i am new to this site.. i havent read more books. but i like john grisham,borges.. i watch lot of movies...
I found this website on the recomendation of a friend. It looks good. I want to get involved in the dialog. Short stories are my favorite: reading and writing. I have done some poetry. Also, I have written one Fantasy Novel, no luck yet towards publication.
I live in LA here in the San Fernando Valley, and am involved in some 12 step groups, and attend a couple classes at a local Community College. I love animals, reading and writing, for the last 5 years I have been vegitarian. I use to smoke, but not anymore. They were tough to get rid of but I managed to kick the habit.
I am eager to read some of your short stories and poetry, and share some of mine.
Hi Colin. Welcome to Lit-Net. Glad you gave up smoking. I quit for 16 years and started again so i'd appreciate any tips! The short story and poetry section is really good and I look forward to reading and posting on your work and I would encourage you to post on others as well.
Hi, everyone, I'm new to the forum and looking forward to joining in =) My name is Irena, I'm 22 and I'm from Bulgaria.
I've always been rather in love with the English language /well, that and almost every other language I've ever studied/ and that is partly the reason why I became an English teacher here in Bulgaria. That is also the reason why I absolutely adore poetry, stories, plays and any other form of expression that allows you to play around with words :)
On that note, I am currently participating in a contest called Let's Talk Shakespeare, which is interesting, because what you have to do is film yourself reading Hamlet's soliloquy. Anyone can try, but of course that only refers to people in the country, sorry. Anyway, the winner with the most likes goes on a trip to Shakespeare's birthplace, which would be so exciting. Here's the video, if you feel like lending a hand and liking, I would be ever so grateful =)

/ I know it's rubbish, I'm no actor, but it was still a lot of fun to do it :) /
So thanks for taking the time to read my introduction and let the discussing begin! ^^
I'm a grad student, and I really like to discuss Shakespeare's works with others, no matter how much more they know about the plays than I do. Do you ever suppose that Shakespeare was trying to say something really BIG in any of his works? Please let me know!
hi all....
m new here....lst yr did finish my grduation.....in eng lit ....hvnt been abl 2 read too much bt m fond of reading ......n hope i vl get a lot more of things here 2 read :
Hello all. I just registered here and hope to peer through this porthole onto life's expanses. I've tended to focus on pursuits, a trait that serves one well, while too often leaving the panorama unappreciated. I've come here to slake my thirst for well expressed ideas about well expressed ideas, and from what I've sampled so far, I've found reason to be optimistic. I don't expect to agree with probably 90% of what I find here, but I'll try to appreciate the thoughts expressed as much as I'll enjoy those provoked.
Id like to introduce myself simply through a piece of my own writing. I can think of no better way to do so.....Glad to join The Literature Network, this is me:
....
This is why you came here. This, possibly, is the result of sitting in the same spot trying to remember the same thoughts; the ones that slipped away. So, it’s just a matter of time now. Rather, a sordid negligence for the realization that you can’t bring time down, or take it with you to say- in the minimal sense; not in this place; not in this tense. And from that comes a certain tension, in mind or of it, that every intention paid henceforth to ascertain an attention of “mine”, but in this case, above it, and in every way the same as the subversive retention and blame, but only in passing, of an ascetic so passively ashen. Who could really feel like this? Could anyone be this pathetically passionate??
....
Hello, so I'm pretty new at all of this, but I am beginning to gain an appreciation for classic works. I want to read more and learn from discussing with others!
Hi everyone,
I am Mike Fisherman from CA. I am 26 years old and I am a mechanical engineer. I love to swim and para-glide. I am a bit crazy about Football and I am a huge fan of Ronaldo.
Hello all,
Just wanted to stop in and say new reader/writer in the midst. I look forward to reading your stories and hearing your criticism on my own work. Thank you!
