Hi everyone, I am really looking forward to contributing here. This site was recommended to me by a good friend who has told me all about the intelligent and interesting discussions here.
First up is Fahrenheit 451!
Greetings everyone, I have been a long time lurker on the forums and up until now have never made a post. But I have decided to end that trend and start joining in the discussions. Reading is quite a new passion of mine and as of now I have only read, Crime and Punishment, 1984, Lord of the Flies and am very close to finishing War and Peace. After that I will go on to read Catcher in the Rye, Pride and Prejudiced, and The Great Gatsby which all three I have on my shelf right now. (And after that I want to read Ulysses, Thus Spoke Zarathustra and a few other by Nietzsche, also Jean-Paul Satre, along with Camus) So in short there is a lot that I want to read, there are far many more that I haven't named above, but a majority of them can be found in the Literature Networks Top 100 Books, which is actually the thing that made me stumble upon this site in the first place.
Can't wait to join in the conversation!

Hi, my name is Josh I mainly write poems but have started to branch out into short stories which was what lead me here :). I tend to explore human nature as well the emotions we all experience. But when I'm not doing this I write about places or describe scenes and I also write dark stories one of which I shall be uploading shortly.
I will openly admit now my punctuation is not perfect and for some people this detracts from the poem or stories I write. I apologise now if you are one of those people. What I will say is I am working on the punctuation :).
A little bit more information about me I'm 19 and I work for Four Seasons Health Care and enjoy writing in my spare time.

Hey folks!
I stumbled onto this site while searching for a few video lectures on Shakespeare. For those looking for some of the open ones, I highly recommend using iTunes.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys better and seeing your thoughts on your favorite literary works.
I have a particular love of sci-fi and horror. Speculative fiction in general, really. Anyone have any suggestions for sites to check out in those niches? Maybe some communities?
Thanks to the Forum owners for keeping the site well-maintained. I know how hard running a forum can be.
Peace,
Omar
Guess I can't write as much as the previous people, but here goes:
Hey, I'm Night (it's my pen name), and I'm a high school students. I read lots of books and, unsurprisingly, am referred to as the nerd, since I know the answers to lots of things.
I love writing books. I've written about 15 now, but yeah, getting a publisher is hard. *sob* I'm studying lots of languages, specifically Japanese and Indonesian, but I can already speak three other languages. Hmm.
Anyway, I like music. I listen to all kinds of genres, actually, and I'm pretty good at playing the guitar.
I'm really nice, but I can get a little sarcastic sometimes. Oh, and I also draw. :P
Hmm...I guess that's it.. :))
Hey, all. My name's Rob. Frankly, I'm here to promote myself. Specifically, the podcast/audiobook of a comedic novel I've written. It's called "Gonna Roll Myself Up to the Top of the Hill", and is essentially a fictional version of the history of rock 'n' roll, as told by its most notorious failure.
edit: sorry, didn't realize I couldn't post the link.
Hey guys,
I'm Act of Otho. It's my Username on the Eragon forum. Otho means faith in the dwarven language in the Inheritance cycle. Call me a nerd if you will, but I love those books.
I'm here for help on my story that I'm writing. I can't figure out how to write the details in it. I also need some feedback on what I need to change. So, here I am.

ok so I am brand new to this site and this is my first ever post, my name is Pooka and i'm a college student looking for help with my English comp 2 papers.. my professor isn't one for giving feedback until the final draft is passed in and my next paper is on poetry which is not a type of literature that I have spent a lot of time reading so I'm not all that familiar with good writers from the genre and could use some advice on finding a poem that I can make an arguement about that applies to society today as well as when the poem was written. I'm also a voracius reader and love to be told about new books that are great reads! I'm a horror/vampire/witch/sci-fi story addict and a Douglas Addams fan but read almost everything except romance novels, they just don't interest me at all. Since this is an introduction I'll also include that I'm 36 years old and am a mother to two daughters (ages 18 and 5) and one son (age 12).
How about this poem?

Hey,
My name is Warren I am from Vancouver, B.C., Canada. It rains here a lot, so I read books and watch a lot of movies. Stumbled on this forum, so I thought I'd check it out.
I'm Warren's brother Darren. We both read a lot. Hope to post here for a while.
Hi everyone!
I have always loved literature and my senior year in high school, we spent the entire first semester reading existential works which started my love for existentialism. I am a French major, however, I will always love literature. That's about all I can think of for now, but I look forward to meeting everyone here and talking about literature!
Hello there!
I'm very new to this forum, and quite happy to have found a place online to share ideas about literature.
I'm a recent college grad (English major) from Pennsylvania, but am currently living in France, where I'm working as an English language teaching assistant in a high school.
I love to read, write, and learn new languages, as well as travel. I've been fortunate in the last few years to have had the opportunity to live in Istanbul, Turkey for four months, and to have gone on a research trip to Nepal. My literary interests are diverse, but I'm particularly fascinated by the English Restoration Period, Gothic literature, representations of the East in European literature, and the postmodern. I'm currently finishing up Wm. Somerset Maugham's masterpiece, Of Human Bondage, which I have enjoyed immensely.
I look forward to many good discussions here!
I was surfing the internet wondering if there were any literature forums just like this. :yawnb: My ethnicity is Korean and have always been interested in English literature, although sometimes it is difficult to process the extremely artistic way of some pieces. My Korean name is Hong Chang Bae but I go by the name of Steve.
My hobbies include : singing, writing, reading, running, smoking(I am not sure if it is considered a hobby), organizing, and so many more.
I like any kind of literature that requires me to think and rethink to understand the idea. In other words, I like DEEP literature. :yawnb:
By being involved in this forum I look forward to meeting new people with similar interests as I have, and also I am looking forward to be criticized for the writing pieces that I want to upload!
Hi folks,
51 year old mathematics academic here, with a serious love of reading. Currently reading Arthur Hugh Clough's "The Bothie of Tober-na-vuolich" and William Cowper's "The Task". I am in fact very inexperienced in reading poetry - especially long poems - and I'm looking forward to some discussions on these boards.

Hello every one from imalizya
Hi, Im Jesse
I've started to read more and I thought this would be a cool place to talk about the books im reading and maybe get some ideas for another books to read.
I just wanted to know about an old etching of Stratford upon Avon signed by C. Dickens...and was directed to this forum. Had to sign up to see if there were any answers. There were. No goldmine in the etching but this is a rather interesting site for me...a bibilophile. Looking forward to dropping in from time to time.
Hello, I am a new member and very interested in literature. Feels great to make my first post!
I am new here, and I have posted a few times. I am an educational assistant in a middle school, I work with special needs students.:banghead:
My favorite book so far is "The Great Gatsby". I say so far, because I have not read all books. I intend to read more of the classics, and I think my next venture will be a Saul Bellow book- "The Adventures Of Auggie March". I really hope that's the correct title, or, :iamwithstupid:

Hi everyone, i'm new to this site but thought it looked like a good place to meet book nerds like myself. I'm looking forward to discussing literature and making some new friends
It is a pleasure to be here. I am not an intense blogger. More occasional voyer into the creative minds of us writers and readers in pursuit of our diverse minds seeking new horizons, manifold perspectives and insightful revelations. To be shared at times on introspection. Or rushes of exuberance between creative bouts of genius. [I pass here haha-my brain is simply manic at times and out of control.] It’s great to be here. Given I am in to science fiction I wont define here. Except to revel in the idea of the possibilites of hyperspace entwined within the digital data realms of the internet where strangeness lurks…it’s my brain again.
Hello, my name is Aleksey.
I joined these forums to discuss works that I have read with others.
good grief! I'm too scared to pronounce your avatar name lol! Welcome to Lit-Net. I seldom visit the forums which discuss works by famous authors unfortunately but I do like to welcome newcomers.
Hello everyone.
I found this site and have been enjoying it for some days and decided to join.
I love to read, I also like to see other opinions so I can find different authors.
Figured I would drop in to say "hello". Let's just say that I'm new and old all at the same time. I'm an old friend with a new identity, but I'll be around to say hi to those I still know :D
