The importance of the witch trials at Salem had nothing to do with the young witches who were having a revengeful ball with their idiotic accussed and knew full well what they were doing. The importance was the aftermath of the situation. That was the first time in American history when the beauty of the American future was pronounced: a person is innocent until PROVEN guilty.
