Yes, I would call in sick from work to attend a daughter's recital, even if I had no daughter and there was/were no recital. Hey, they owe me, so, it's arguably morally correct.

At night, when you wake up and can't fall back asleep what do you do?
Well it's 3:00 AM here now on January 31st, and I can't sleep. Guess I've been busted. Had some trauma earlier this year that keeps me from sleeping soundly. Before, it was early to bed and early to rise. Like most others onsite, late night usually finds me reading, or writing. Live alone and haven't turned on the TV yet this year. 'Tis an unglamourous answer. Perhaps a single shot of single malt; then an extra cup of coffee at dawn. Never yet taken pills, even on long flights. The quiet solitude is nice but ... would rather be sleeping.
