Wouldn't it be great if that were feasible? We could all fly to Dublin and have a last party with Larry in his native land!Quote:
I think that when this is finished we should all try to meet up somewhere with larry as a special guest. That would be nice.
Let's do it... ;)
Aw Shalot your not serious! I was dying to see what Tenessee is like! And Larrys not all about partying in big cities. He likes the quiet countryside and small towns as well and is really hoping to see as many different places as possible.
Please dont drop out!!
Hey i wasnt even thinking of Ireland but... That would be really good fun! And i could show you all around Dublin.:D
Actually, I live in Wisconsin. Approximately 90 miles north of the Windy City. Brew City, in fact. ;) That is a fairly quick trip no matter how you're traveling. :)
I think it is too bad if everyone is starting to think that Larry would only want to see the bigger cities. After all, this is his first trip to America, right? America has many other places to see other than cities. Maybe he would've liked the relaxation of something a little quieter.
Well, if I could've invited him here during a different season, I would've given a taste of the city along with the countryside. Maybe some other time. :)
Shalot- I've been in Tennessee and I know that Larry would be missing a big part of the US if he didn't visit there. And TN is interesting! It has beautiful scenery and is the country music center of the world- how good can it get! Anyways, no offense to anyone, but cities suck. Rural states are much more interesting even if they are slower paced. Larry will need a good relaxing part of his journey too!
Yay! I'm so excited. I can't wait until he gets here :D
It will be a change for him like Lily said- no snow! I'll have to take him to the beach, lol.
Can't wait to see more pics, and even better Larry himself!
 Hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa...
AddyDio, come on, now. Not even just visiting them? I mean, I wouldn't like to live in a big city, but I love visiting Los Angeles. Anyways, Larry will have a nice mixture of city and nature here in our town. :D Let's take him downtown and to the beach!!!!
But the thing about cities is that whereever you are in the city you can 'feel' all the other people in the city and in a way its exciting.
I love the country too, which is why Ive got it great living in the country and commuting to the city so I get both the sky and the ground... as it were.
:D
A mixture of city and nature? In our town? HA! Now, drive about thirty minutes away and you will find some semblance of nature in the mountains of Ojai, but not in Ventura. Unless you count the trees the government planted along the side of the road as nature. The beach works- but even there you can tell you are near a trash producing city. And I like cities that are like Downtown- but those are more like towns. Even though our downtown is filled with scary homeless people and smokers to a point I can hardly breath.
And the city is okay to visit...for a very short while and in the right cities it can be exciting. But I've been poisoned by Cali cities- smog, traffic, trash on the sidewalk, loud noises, shouting and cursing, etc. It's not the same as the bright lights and and crowded streets with people calling taxis, that you see in movies. Take Hollywood for example...I've been there twice and plan to never go back if I can help it. It is a scary place with no bright lights or smiling faces. It's no wonder that when you see pics of Hollywood all you see is the gigantic sign on the side of the mountain and the Hollywood walk of fame. Places like New York and Washington are different, and Philadelphia too, they are beautiful and you do get that excitement about being around so many people, but other cities....I choose not to be around them much.
When I get Larry, I'm going to mame him:lol: . (probably take an eye off.)
EDIT: My brother actually posted this. Argh. Don't worry eveybody, Larry will be safe with me.
Don't do that! That would be terrible- to be blind in one eye! He needs to enjoy his visit, not fear it!
Are you kidding me?! We've got hills to hike in! The beach! (I realize you mentioned the latter.) They're plenty of nature. Not too much, not too little. We have the snowy mountains 45 minutes away from us, remember?!
But I must admit downtown has gotten worse over the years. I don't remember it being so disgusting. But I still adore it down there. We gotta take a picture of all of us in front of city hall with the ocean in the backround. How can you not like it here?! This is secret paradise! This is defintely not a big city like L.A. and that's why I like it.
You know, L.A. really isn't that bad. Hollywood is wonderful. You forgot the Hollywood Bowl and Griffith Park. And Santa Barbara is such a pretty city. You have to admit that. It's not smoggy at all. It's just a quaint little Spanish city. It's all about visiting big cities, not living in them. :D I could never do that. Except Santa Barbara because it isn't really a big city with tall buildings. :D Just a bit more urban.
