Back in Black - AC/DC
two black cadillacs by carrie underwood, one of a small handful of "revenge" songs by her. its interesting to me, in so much as I can tell anyhow, that no one ever decries them. same with books, and movies too.
Meu cadillac (My-cadillac - A Brazilian classic by Roberto Carlos)

“Bring My Cadillac Back” By Baker Knight

Pink Cadillac - Bruce Springsteen
Cadillac ranch by bruce Springsteen
or
little pink houses by john mellencamp
or
just give me a reason by pink
take your pick!
The House of the Rising Sun(a favorite)-The Animals
danik, if youre up for the looking, im hoping to set you on a house of the rising sun listening mini-marathon!
given youre from brazil, you might like santa Esmerelda's version
and then there's josh Halverson and kylie rothfield's live version from the 2016 season of the voice
also Kimberly nichole's live version from the voice, very different from the above
white buffalo and the forest ranger
lauren O'Connell from American horror story 3
frijid pink--first heard a few strains of this one in the movie remember the titans, its more rock with some distortion. I love the beginning
the eagles--a pretty nifty acoustic version
joan baez (of course)
bob Dylan (of course)
and if you are really motivated and having a great time, there's even Russian version floating around out there.
bad moon rising by ccr
Blue Moon - The Marcels :)
Thanks, bounty, I'll listen to all of them. But it will be difficult to displace my beloved Joan Baez.
Moon River Frank Sinatra (another favorite. Probably has several versions, too)
i think my favorite of the bunch danik is the instrumental by the eagles. followed by Kimberly nichole's version. if you hunt up the ones from "the voice" make sure you get the live versions. the studio ones are never as good.
if I had to guess, id say that most cover versions of moon river are probably very close to the original. in this instance, the house of the rising sun covers are all pretty different from the original, in some cases wildly so.
pink moon by nick drake, from an old and very peaceful cabriolet commercial.
Cherry Pink And Apple Blossom White - Pérez Prado
cherry baby an underrated but really fun one hit wonder pop rock song from my kid days in the 70s, by starz.
Just listened to some renderings of The House of the Rising Sun. They are all interesting but Joan´s is the most dramatic.
Baby Son by John Mark McMillan
I can see her version playing well at the end of some dramatic movie with a really sad ending as the screen turns to black and the credits start to roll...
are you familiar with her version of the night they drove ol' dixie down?
father and son a song by cat stevens I hadn't heard until I watched guardians of the galaxy 2
Hymn For My Father - Collective Soul
I thought the video very fitting.

Bounty "are you familiar with her version of the night they drove ol' dixie down?" No, but I´m going to find it. She has a beautiful voice and she sings with passion.
Bounty, listened to "the night they drove ol' dixie down"
I love these sung stories. You both, of course, know this song by the Walkers "There´s no more corn in the Brazos". It´s curious because the harmonic music hides a hideous story. Here in Brazil, where people usually didn´t understand the lyrics it was often played as a dancing music in the discos.
“My Father’s Eyes” by Eric Clapton
These Eyes - The Guess Who
that's an interesting observation danik. it makes you wonder about the origins and intent of things. I used to pay attention to figure skating a long time ago. I remember watching ice dancing and the couple was using a song that came from one of the early Matrix movies. it seemed very suitable for use in a routine, but one of the commentators felt it necessary to point out how it came from one of the most violent movies ever. he seemed to be disgusted by it. I think his implication was sort of "how could these degenerate idiots have picked that music??"
these are a few of my favorite things by Julie Andrews from the musical (oh no tailor!) the sound of music
Love the musical. It was the second film, I think, I watched in life.
ne Thing Leads to Another: Greatest Hits- Fixx
it was scandalous when she later bared her breasts for a movie danik! Julie Andrews of all people! avert your eyes!
wild thing by the troggs and the nickname and theme music for ricky Vaughan played by Charlie sheen in the great baseball movie major league
troggs... great song
The Things We Do For Love - 10cc
"like walking in the rain and the snow when theres nowhere to go, when you feel like a part of you is dying, and youre looking for the answer in her eyes..."
do wah diddy by Manfred mann.
if only picking up chicks were that easy!
Do I Still Figure In Your Life? by Joe Cocker.
Wild Wild Life - Talking Heads
wild mountain thyme which has been done by all sorts of folks, and is one of my favorite all time songs. favorite version probably by the corries.
danik, if you are interested, your girl joan baez has sung it too. but the corries version is better!
Thanks, Bounty. Will look it up!

From one of my favorite artists:
A Love Song - Anne Murray
All you need is love-Beatles
You Might Think - The Cars
you might think im crazy, but all I want is you...
you look good by lady antebellum which I always thought was a weird name for a group that had a couple of men in it who were also lead singers but who have since caved to virtue signaling wokeness by renaming themselves "lady a."
Good Vibrations - Beach Boys
Good Day Sunshine-The Beatles
i could go for being in love and having a sunny day!
so i'll go with springsteen's waitin' on a sunny day
Sunny Sunday - Joni Mitchell
