Basil, on the other hand, has read most of Faulkner's works and, therefore, is not a dumb pleb like me.

Much like the Ents, the person above me does not like haste. In addition, the person above me cannot be called a "dumb pleb' as her posts prove her to be a highly intelligent person filled with humour, insight, and a deep, abiding love of KitKats.

Basil is the mastermind behind the Gnomes ("A behind-the-scenes gnome master, scheming and plotting, pulling the strings of his gnome-puppets . . .making them do his bidding").
Scher has just given you an indication of her bizarre belief system regarding gnomes. Not to mention the fact she believes I have some sort of magical power over them--"them' referring to gnomes: a creature which does not, in fact, even exist. If this were an episode of Matlock, they'd be taking her away right now . . .
