Thank you ! I made an edit/revision to further the comedy/tragedy with more rhyme :)

I see! But I think the first version is more dramatic because it ´doesn´t explain anything. There is just the impact of the last verse.
Thanx! I agree with your assessment... changed back.

:) Yes, I prefer it that way!
An Anonymous Critic Named Marceau
There once was a critic who admired Chagall
So much he attended an event through a squall
He specifically liked his depictions of cats
Which he held to the highest review such that's
He gave each one 5 out of 5 étoiles

Lol! I never knew that Chagall loved and painted cats but this is the result of my research:
https://www.thegreatcat.org/the-cat-...ussian-french/
A not so anonymous cat depicted by Chagall
Some humans cultivate strange habits.
Daddy pawed some colors and lo,
this smudge looks a bit like what?
Oh, I see, a cat!
Is that me?
I have to confess though
that I am much more beautiful,
than this rather hazy creature.
Definitively the better painter is Nature.
But Daddy captured well
my affectionate look.
It will shine through ages.
Lol... enjoyed your poem and the article/review :)

re: Thanks. Did you see Chagall´s cat paintings on the botton of it?
Yes, my favorite of the group would have to be Le Poète of course :)

:) Of course! Mine the cat from the cat and child group with its almost human expression of affection.

Charming ars poetica!
It was kind of you furnishing the solution of the acrostic for I got absolutely stuck. Next time I need a difficult word it will be Antitintinnabularian.

An Anonymous Man Named Timon Bey

With all of his strength
His logic so Venn, and so Boole

A terrible anagram misrepresentation of Epitaph by Friedrich Schiller... https://www.public-domain-poetry.com.../epitaph-30675

Poor enchained ghost. Didn´t locate the anagram though.
The ice (cream) mice
There once where some little mice
who loved ice(cream)
One didn´t have to ask them twice
If they wanted ice (cream).
But every vice (snif!)
Has it´s price.
The little mice
Rejected their rice
They only wanted ice (cream)!
So when they died
They turned into ice.
For this silly poem
I apologize!
Cute poem :)
An anagram (not an acrostic) is rearranging letters such that one gets a new word or collection of words... https://examples.yourdictionary.com/...-examples.html
Here's a clever one from the link: "the Morse Code = here come dots"
In my case I take an entire poem and turn it into an alphabet soup and rearrange :)
Ta ! (short for tarradiddle),

You're right I was looking for the acrostic. I still have to try the anagram of a poem. It's much more difficult.
I use a website that might help for anagrams... one needs to play with the settings a bit like "Max other words" to zero... https://futureboy.us/lookup/nph-anagram.pl

A dramatic writer!
A True Story
There once was a poet fine
who worked from nine to nine.
He sat all day long at his desk
sighing and drinking beer.
The page stared back at him
just white and clean.
Then he had an idea
He wrote as title
"The Blank Page"
The poem became very famous.

My Word Can poem from our Thursdays at Two poetry group a few weeks ago: lapidary, rare-volumes, scrounge, sicken, chance, crate, chimney, porch
a little rain falls
a chimney chuffed nearby showing
signs of life as she walked on
cobblestones which shone like
lapidary work in the misty rain
on the way to visit a friend
who was sickened by loneliness and despair
on the porch
rare volumes scrounged from her friend’s library
and put into crates to be taken away
forever
it was not by chance
rather by necessity

8 words is a lot!
Very interesting poem, because of its implied meaning. A clear division: signs of life in the first part of the poem contrasting with the tokens of illness, decay or even death in the second. What happened to the friend, that the books had to be taken away ( reminding me of my own library that had to be dismantled recently)?. Perhaps I would just change the title to a less explicit one.
Yes, 8 is a lot... one word, or hyphenated word) for each participant where everyone? was present :) Yes, I did think of your library in passing.
Title too telling, hmmm... going with a little rain falls

My Word Can poem for our Thursdays at Two group: vocal, poise, sky, fractured wicker, switch, dome

lounging in an imagined garden
switching gears from poised to pensiveness
with a fractured vocal searching sigh
I pondered the dominions of domed earthly skies
deep seated in wicker chair discomfortness

A lot of words to be packed in five lines. Lol: "A fractured vocal searching sigh", here you surpassed yourself!
Thank you ! Not bad for a 15-minute thought & write with the group... and I think I had a stupor of thought for about the first 2-minutes; L1 was actually the last line I came up with. I give all credit to Parker for these "flash" Word Can poems :)

My assignment for Thursdays at Two poetry group: (for 6/1/2023): From the perspective of a Dandelion
The Dandelion
I arose from the ground deep rooted
in late winter to take a look around - on
a stalk ending in bright yellow florets
between my lion's teeth leaves by day
I'm not annoyed by the butterflies and
bees - they rather tickle me searching for
pollen and perhaps some dew as I s-t-r-
e-t-c-h skyward to get a better view
My kin are nearby - some being nibbled
upon (we're rather tasty I've heard), others
like I, exult in what sunbeams find our way
waving serenely in the wind day by day
Before each nightfall I gather my florets
in a bunch to catch some sleep and dream
an ancestral dream of the plan of eternal
happiness and my part in this joyous scheme
For you see my kind is especially endowed
exhibiting all of the signs of post-mortal life
depicting stars, moon, and sun; each a degree
of glory defined by a Heavenly Father's love
My season sees a transition from yellow
florets to a portentous seed head upon my
hollow stem and I can now view the night-
time sky and ponder what lies before me...
When a færie maiden plucks my stem of
myriads of diadems, to softly blow upon my
face and release wishes to embrace the
immensity of the universe and all eternity
