lay down sally -- eric clapton
An interesting title. It's not a command for Sally to lie down (since it's not Lie Down Sally) but for someone else (since it's not Lay Yourself Down Sally) to lay Sally down. The unanswered question of course is: "Where do you you want me to lay down Sally?"
Sally Go 'Round the Roses by the Jaynetts
You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) - Dead or Alive
Are you sure about this?
It's interesting to note the grammar for sure, and a lot of us get those two mixed up at times, but the next few lines are,
"Lay down Sally,
rest here in my arms,
I've been waiting, all night long just to talk to you."
That would seem to indicate the opposite, grammar notwithstanding.
I just have to laugh at that word - notwithstanding. :)
Just Like Me - John Renbourn
(one of my favourites, I was trying to remember it a little while ago, but I didn't remember it until now. Thanks Tailor :))
De nada. The conversation above is quite interesting. I'm leaning towards improper grammar... or a very creepy song.
