my answer however, in keeping with the thread, would have to be-----well, its a little known fact that the movie was originally marketed to manufacturers of glass shoes in general, so the screen writers needed to keep their audience happy by the magical constancy of the glass slipper in particular. otherwise, there would have been a glass shoemaker uprising on their hands...or feet, as it were.
