Are the British Isles classed as Northern or Western Europe ? I have plumped for Western for the purposes of this poll.. I do not consider myself european either way. How do other Brits feel ? (without getting "political").
Well, MANICHAEAN still thinks India's Britain, so I'm guessing there's quite a bit of discretion.
Possibly Northern Europe means Scandanavia, so the UK is Western Europe. I certainly think of myself as European, English and an UK citizen.
From New Zealand, although recently moved to the US. Disappointed to see "Australia and Oceania" instead of making them separate, or putting as "Australia/Oceania". Small but important differences to a few people, I think...?

Scottish, so Western Europe. Like a few other Brits have said, I don't consider myself European.
Love Scotland. Would move there at a drop of a hat if I could find a job.
PS: By Scotland I mean the Highlands! :D
I'm also Scottish, though thankfully living in America... I consider myself American, and nothing but.
The Scots certainly aren't Europeans; what they are is England's doormat, and deservedly so. Forget notions of Braveheart and nationhood, and Highland honor... what they've become is gutless socialists living in a Nanny State, tied to England's apron. It would cost us not one drop of blood to be liberated from English rule, simply vote to become a completely independent nation... and not even that is possible.
A kilt is no more than a Catholic schoolgirl's uniform, bagpipes a sack of tortured kittens.
Scotland isn't England's doormat. The previous two prime ministers were Scots (if you count Blair). Half the Labour government was Scottish at one point. Scots were very enthusiastic empire builders at one point. Somehow, many of them like to feel like they are victims now. It's not as if they want true independence anyway. They want to keep the Pound and stay in the EU, which means doing whatever Germany and France tell them to do.
